Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Nice work Caracatus! Just to confirm was that $35k + ORC or $35k drive-away?

Either way given the new 140TDI R-line is $55k, these are certainly priced to move.

    2017 Tiguan Sportline - Tigger73's 162TSI Sportline

    2016 Scirocco R, stage 1, 205kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's Scirocco R Build
    2013 Tiguan 155TSI, stage 1, 144kwaw (sold) - Tigger73's 155TSI Build
    2011 Tiguan 125TSI, Stage 2+, 152kwaw (sold)
    - Tigger73's 125TSI Build

      Hi tigger73

I would have said $35k was drive away, except I have to now go to the RMS (DMR for us old farts) and pay the applicable stamp duty myself.

Oh, and it *was* after trade-in ($2.5k)on the 349k Nov '07 MK5 Golf 2.0TDI. So *I* believe I got myself a bargain, and hope no-one bursts my bubble!

And I really, really wanted that black one in Sutherland, damn you Larry! (Or the Night Blue)

Finance approval pending, pickup tomorrow morning, one Silver 130TDI R line!

For anyone interested, the Purchase Contract has the Vehicle Price of $35445.45, less a discount of $1354.54 (no idea were or what or how this discount was calculated), but adding GST of $3409.09, gives the purchase price of $37500. Now subtract the Golf's trade in, and you get $35k

Something else that might also be of interest, gleaned from my phoning most dealers in NSW within a 500KM radius of Sydney:

All the diesel-gate Tigs (and others, I assume) are all previous orders to VW from Dealers. So there are really no loose Tigs hiding away in those damned distribution yards. On their release, the original Dealer was then offered their order, but at a reduced price (They come to the customer with standard new car warranty) but are officialy classed as second hand vehicles. Some Dealers are calling them Deomstartor models, but their official designation is a Used Vehicle. (This is born out by my Purchase Contract which is titled Contract For The Purchase Of A Used Vehicle)

Those salesstaff that offer to find one for you do exactly what I did. They rang around. My Botany seller had told me he knew of a Night Blue R-Line. Asked him if he meant the one at Sutherland. He did. But I had pretty much put Sutherland VW in the manure pile (see previous entry re Larry at Sutherland...)

Hope you all find the Tig of your dreams

Merry Christmas to all, and Happy Holidays to everyone else
