  • Best VW/diesel/Tiguan mechanic in Canberra

Need to get the idler pulley, tensioner and water pump replaced in my 2010 Tig soon. Just wondering who's the best mechanic in Canberra. Cheap would be good, but quality workmanship more important(cheaper in the long run).
So who are you guys using?
sorry, I know this info has been covered but I can't recall where I saw it and didn't find it in a search.
    cheers in advance.

Cheap is not good but understand where you are coming from.
I have had several performance and diesel VWs and now a new Audi SQ5 - they have all been consistently, correctly and professionally serviced from the moment they were delivered by the Canberra VW Centre at Belconnen.
Sadly the word was soon out some years ago that this is the only place one would consider taking a VW whether petrol or diesel so you should plan to book in a few weeks before services are needed.
Can't recommend them too highly for all work from suspension through fuel injection and APR mods.

I think all the quality VW mechs in canberra are busy (whether air or water).

Boys at CVWC Belco are good.
Gareth (ex CVWC Belco) now has his own shop in Mitchell - Northside European. He is v good (sorted out a weird water leak on our old 09 skoda once just before chrissy one year when all the others were booked out til late Jan)
And I have been taking all my water cooled cars for years to Michael at CVWC Tuggeranong - good mech and good attention to detail (I am a southsider)
My Air cooled goes to A&R Auto Repairs in Mitchell ... Angelo also does watercooled if you are so inclined.

I vote for Canberra VW Centre at Belconnen too. I take both of my cars there, and as I come up from Cooma, they have always been flexible with timings for me, which is greatly appreciated.

Gareth who is ex CVWC is also very good but I would recommend sticking with the guys at CVWC Belco.
The CVWC on Southside is very good but the focus there is generally the older models/Beetles.
Tig/GTR/GTi/Audi or if you are one of those that likes to do every weird thing known to man to your Tig then go to Belconnen - they have seen it all and I have shared some amusing tales about some of these forum members cars over a Friday arvo beer with the boys.

Thanks for the tips guys. I am on south side but sounds like belco is worth the trip.
              will book it in soon.
