Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Looks like the Wintake (single) will, but the twintake might not.

30mm drop on Eibach springs. Handling has improved immensely, much less lifting on acceleration and braking. Corners better too.

Ordered a replacement set of licence plate LED bulbs as my 5 year old super cheapies from ebay started to flicker and drop an SMD or two.

Weighed up getting the OEM led housings or a set of the canbus error free ones from racing-dash etc but for $2 each and a 5 year lifetime, another set of the ebay specials is fine.

Also because mine is a 2010 model it doesn't throw an error with the non resisted led bulbs.

Is that the case with all 2010 models?

I have fancied some LEDS but didn't want the expense or unreliability.
          Thanks👍

Got them a few years ago from: jimellisvwparts.com before the rline was sold in Australia.
Going to remove them and put the wider version that have been sitting in my garage.

If they'll fit a Mk2 Tig and you end up wanting to sell them I'll buy them.

Surprised you left the 4motion badge. Go nude - all the pre-facelift Tigs were 4motion anyways

                          In Australia yes.

In the UK/EU they had the 1.4TSI FWD option that we didn't get.

Haha I like it "go nude"
It crossed my mind if I should take it off too but there's something about that little badge that makes me feel quite proud.
perhaps because this is my first 4motion , dunno, it may come off in time.
