Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Should things written in the Owner's Manual work for me?

    Hi guys,

5 months into MY15 132 TSI Tiguan ownership all is going well, only 3400kms done, but would like some advice regarding some things in the Owner's manual that I can't seem to get working. The manual doesn't seem to indicate what functions are optional or standard.

Has my car not been set up correctly or are these things supposed to be missing from my model Tiguan?

    Main manual
    Page 24 - Compass - do I have one?
Page 129 - Passenger mirror settings for reversing - how do I get this dipping when I reverse?
Page 222 - How do I get the reverse camera to also show sensor graphic like this:

    or this

I can choose camera or sensor view, but not both at once.
Page 254 - Tyre pressure monitoring system - should I have this?

    mobile telephone PLUS manual
Page 7 - voice control - should this work for me?
Page 8 - 3 button roof module - should the VW numbers be calling Germany or can they be configured to call VW Australia / VW Assist Australia?

Thanks for any advice - MK

    Hi

    In regards to your questions:

    Page 24 - Compass - do I have one?
    - Compass is only available if you have RNS510 (sat nav)

Page 129 - Passenger mirror settings for reversing - how do I get this dipping when I reverse?
    - The setting for dipping mirrors is on the MFD under conveniance settings (if I remember correctly). make sure all doors are closed and ignition is on to access the settings. Use the steering wheel buttons on right-hand side

Page 222 - How do I get the reverse camera to also show sensor graphic like this
    - The arrow should be on the edge of the LCD screen on top left corner, it should open up. Have modified your pic as below

Page 7 - voice control - should this work for me?
    - Voice control on the steering wheel is the mute function in Oz Tiguan models

Page 8 - 3 button roof module - should the VW numbers be calling Germany or can they be configured to call VW Australia / VW Assist Australia?
    - They should be calling VW Australia, never tried (as yet)

    Regards

    Dino

Thanks for the reply. Got the reverse camera working, but can't get the passenger side mirror to dip when I reverse. Roof buttons dial what looks like a German number so I'll ask about this at the next service if I can remember / be bothered asking.

      Cheers,

      MK
