Are 255/40 the right size tyre for these rims?

I was told that 255 was too wide for 19x8 and would need 19x8.5 (or x9) to fit these.

Recommended tyre size that I've been looking at is 245/45R19 for 19x8.

I might talk to another tyre shop but that was what was suggested by one place.

And yes as you know arches are a must if you want to go wider.

I have a pic in the rims thread of them, flush on the rim. 245's are too narrow imo for the tiggy.
I wanted 8.5 or 9 but they didnt have the style I wanted in those sizes. AUVW 19x8.0 Style1149
I then wanted 45 series rubber, however with the ET35's, the tyre will rub against the top cap of the strut (spring cap top I meant) at that size so I need a more positive offset wheel, I am avoiding spacers at all costs.

I will eventually get what I want.. to much testing tho lol

Hmmm might need to make a few more investigations before fitting some rubber...

The fit of the tyre on the wheel is also going to be different between manufacturers

We had a 265 Falken on a 10 inch wheel and its was stretched ever so slightly, we then swapped to an Advan Neova AD08 in the same size and it has no stretch whatsoever, in fact i had to roll the guards to make that tyre fit as they scrubbed everywhere

Can anyone confirm if the 19' Q5 S wheels are ET39?

Apparently there is an Audi guide floating around somewhere.. yet to track it down.
