Hi all, just a noob question... Will Audi Q5 wheels with specs 19"/8"/45offset 255/50/19 fit my 2012 Tiguan?

Rims should fit with no issues, but 255/50R19 tyres is a bit too big for Tiguan

Speedo will be out of wack due to around 50mm difference in diameter.

If you have the standard ride height, I dont think it'll rub. Dont take my words for it though.

As an example, the R Line wheels are 19x9 et33 with 255/40/19 tyres. The Q5 tyres as mentioned above are too big in profile so not only will your speedo be out but it could affect things like ABS. Secondly, the higher offset of et45 and narrow wheel (8J) means that the wheels will sit so far inside the arches it would look (please excuse my language) plain stupid. You will need something like 30mm spacers all round just to get them to sit flush with the arches. That's just my opinion though as I prefer the flush look.

Could go with 235/45/19 or 245/45/19 or 255/40/19......

All good advice. Cheers. The thing is the price for these wheels and tyres is real good so I jumped on it straight away..I have 19" on my A4 and speedo is out 4km that doesn't bother me..just was worried about the offset and thought the big offset is pushing the wheels out not in and not too keen on spacers so might pass..

Yes personally if you haven't already bought them then steer clear. I went through the same process before you and realised that a larger offset pushes the wheels inward. In fact my current wheels are 19x8.5 et28 and I'm still using 15mm spacers all round to give them a really flush fit. Before that I wasn't happy that they sat inside by about an inch and I personaly prefer this look and 15mm is the absolute limit I would go with spacers before starting to worry about excessive strain on the wheel bearings.

Cheers Naresh, yeah not a fan of that pushed in look flush with the guards is the way to go. I have 19" 235/35/19 et45 on my Audi A4 and the wheels sit flush with the guards..thought might be same with the tig... So in the future when looking for rims for the Tig I would go no bigger then 19" but would like the fats like 255,265 even if its on the back only but go with the smaller profile and smallest et. Would love the staggered look with concave like these but 5+ k on wheels is just not in my ball game

I don't think the 255 wide profile will fit on 19x8 rim. I believe you'll find the "stock" 19's on a Tig are 19x9 and run 255/40R19 with the wheel arch extensions to keep everything legit as they will poke a 12-13mm further out than other rims (e.g. 18x8 ).

I think you'll find that Naresh has these flared arch extensions as he has an R-line (sports body kit) so I wouldn't be basing your wheel sizes on his figures as his "poke" will be different due to the guards.

I have 19x8 ET33 rims and will be fitting these up with 245/45R19. These will sit pretty much flush (I hope) with my stock Aus delivered vehicle.

If you want the really fat look then you'd probably be better off to go with 19x9's and get some wheel earch extensions. I know there was a group looking at getting some of these in but they're not a cheap option (like about $700 just for the arches).

There's a few good online wheel/trye calculators and you can punch in the size offset you're currently running vs what you're proposing and it will give you a good idea where the new wheel/tyre sits relative to stock/existing.

I'd steer clear of spacers at all costs (illegal here in Australia) and get the right size/width/offset rims.

This may not be where you want to go, but I got hold of a set of second hand Audi A5 rims (2010) 17 x 7.5 with ET 28. These are really flush with guards. The rims cost a whole $50 each - unmarked! Tyres are Yoko 235/55 x 17. Rims are fairly easy to clean unlike 16's. I reckon the ride is better than 16's even on 36 psi. I chose 17s as I still has some off-road tyre wall height for lowering tyre pressure in sand etc. The only drawback is that the A5 rims have centrebore of 66.6 compared to the 57.1 of pretty much every other Audi sedan wheel (and Tig OEMs) so I have used hub rings.
I now have a full size spare and some 16 inch wheels to sell off when I get round to it.

Wheels are from Jax at Bowen Hills. They have heaps of Audi wheels - they are reasonably close to the Audi retailer!

Thanks for the info, but I'm interested in 19" as I want to upgrade from my factory 17" wheels..

I run 19x8 et35 with 255/40 tyres, they sit flush.

I also have the arch's to instal when I get time as I want a little more offset/width for my next set.
