Thanks to aussietig for organising this (mini) group buy. Installation was a 5 minute job. Put some double-sided tape on the back of the resistors so hopefully they don't move around. LEDs are much brighter and can confirm that they are error free.

Just to update I received a nice package via Fedex here in the UK which was quite fast considering the chinese new year. The LED units are now installed and working fine - much brighter than the original festoons and a perfect crisp white.

The most important thing is they work fine without the huge resistor blocks attached. I chose not to plug them in as I had already disabled the cold monitoring system via VCDS and am pleased to say there is still no error message on the MFD. Happy days.

Yes I never throw anything away so they will get stored safely together with the original lights. Thanks for the heads up on these btw, they really are an improvement over what I had and similar in output to the custom 3W high power ones I made for my TT.

OK R-Dash LED kit installed and working - had them in a months or so and no errors (true error free).

They are quite bright just themselves without changing the reversing bulbs.

However you'll have to find a retailer that sells them as I think this is only manufacturer website.

Question for aussietig or anyone else with a Tiguan who has put the R Dash LED's in....

Im trying to find some LED numberplate lights for my brothers Octy vRS wagon and his stock lights are approx 9cm long X 2.5cm wide. The connector is a black rectangle pin which is about 2cm wide. The light housings are held onto the car by two screws (one of wither side of the light)

Could someone with a Tig please measure the side of their numberplate lights and let me know how big they are? im wondering if they are the same as the Octavia's.

The light is 31mm x 78mm and there's 61mm between centres of the holding screws. I think there's a photo of the back/connector.

For some reason the later model Tigs have been very fussy about LED license plate lights as they keep on throwing bulb out warnings, however these r-dash ones are fine.

Thanks Tigger - i thought the Tiguan lights might have been shorter and wider from looking at the photo. Damn - that means they wont fit. Thanks anyway.
