I bought mine from the parts for sale listing here: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...nce-79787.html

Added the extra couple of blue bulbs, though he also does red but I think blue is nice in the footwell.

These are direct swap-out. Same connections so all you need to do is work out how to get into the overhead compartment to change over the bulb!!!!

Apparently for $15 you can send them the image you want and they'll make a one-off.

3 weeks to a month is par for postage from that region. (especially the free postage types). And with the christmas season, it could take longer. But it will be very nice to see the results from your car ..

            Bling bling has arrived.

            Tested:

And now for the installation. I think this may be a little tricky in the Tig as there are no door lights to tap into. I may have to run some longer wires around/through to the footwell lights instead.... unless anyone has a better idea???

Let me start this by saying i know nuts about wiring anything in a tig. I think the footwell lights may be a safe (sure?) method.

I also found this, which may make sense to you, but if pure gibberish to me. The instructions are for a slightly different item which you can view here, but seems that the instructions may apply to this laser light as well. (unless the model of the car is not the same)

You read the simplified chinese? it is a replacement for your door lights if you had door lights in the first place.

In other words if you had these, take it out and replace them. (at least I think that's what it says, I used Chrome browser to auto translate them.

Seriously considering doing the warning light retrofit and changing my window and mirror switches for chrome versions at the same time. As I'll have the door trims off may as well do both and only have to replace the broken clips once!

yeah usually anything you can find from taobao will be on aliexpress with x2-x3 the price. my tiguan doesnt have door lights but just a red reflector down the bottom. not sure if the link helps but maybe some tiguan came with door lights? that version is plug and play.

None of the current model Golf/Tiguan have the safety lights - I think they were available in the earlier Mk V Golfs, but they've kept the same door moulding and installed the reflector (or at least kept the option for later). I guess they saved $5 a door by taking out the light/wiring.

OK I'm now doing this upgrade - keeping my Tig more OEM and getting the warning lights plus chrome trim upgrade for the interior switches and a few extra door panel clips in case (when not if) I bust some.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the laser lights yet. I have a couple of ideas. Wife is not that keen on having them installed on the car and after the initial excitement I can kind of see her point. I still think they are cool but maybe not so cool on the car.

Good move. IMHO, the projector lights are a bit tacky. I have the earlier version of the door light LEDs for the fronts and would recommend them. I have since ordered the new LEDs.

Don't forget to order the cloth tape as it is almost impossible to find locally.

Yes ... save the laser lights for shining up in the sky to mark where a Vee Dub gathering is happening.

Especially since the coppers are all over Facebook these days breaking up parties and who knows forums might be next.
