Yes there appears to be some secrets in getting RNS510 working with RVC. I've got RCD510 and it was pretty much enable the option and it worked first time.

Thanks for the response and makes perfect sense so have carried out exactly what you have suggested and sent a copy of the Auto-Scan to Ross-Tech (I am the registered owner of the tool) so if I get the fix I will post it so we all know

Suggest you do a full Autoscan and send it Support at Ross Tech theymay be able to help providing you are a registered cable owner with them otherwise have a word with Aussietig as he appears to be the only other 147 owner that has a basic RVC retrofitted and also has a module 10 fitted

After firing off an email to Ross-Tech this was their response:
Start==
I searched for all instances of "5N0 919 475 B" in our email database
and the results limited to a handful of VW Tiguans. Most had the RCD
rather than the RNS, but 69-Trailer was not installed and they were
coded to 100002 -or- 100102 for Automatic transmission. This is a
random example of a RNS model:
Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J446) Labels: 3C8-919-475.clb
Part No SW: 5N0 919 475 B HW: 5N0 919 475
Component: PARKHILFE 4K H07 0023
Revision: -------- Serial number: 11131023104369
Coding: 100102
Address 56: Radio (J0506) Labels: 1T0-035-680.clb
Part No SW: 1T0 035 680 H HW: 1T0 035 680 H
Component: RNS-MID H61 3970
Revision: AB001001 Serial number: VWZ6Z7M6046187
Coding: 04000402040000A00000
So, I believe you are correct and this appears to be a limitation of
that #10 module.
==END
So if anyone has any further tips or advice with coding the RVC to appear with the OPS it would welcomed or I might see if I can bribe the dealer considering they fitted the towbar/wiring

Ok try disabling the towing module 69 in the CANbus #19 module by going into the installation list and unticking it and save it and then try and activate the RVC option in module 10. If it works then go back to the dealer and tell them to check the wiring or possibly recode it so there are no conflicts with your module 10
BTW have you had a look at the long coding in the towing module? There may be some coding needed there as well may save you a trip to the dealerLast edited by Bambazonke; 08-04-2013, 02:34 PM.MY 21 T Cross 85TSI Life| Makena Turquoise | Driver Assist Package |

Bambazonke - thanks for the follow up so will try as you suggest. BTW had major towbar wiring issues (warning lights on dash coming on when plugging in the harness) when I picked up the vehicle from the dealer when new and it took several goes for them to fix it so will be interesting none the less

Hi all - finally had some time over the weekend to go over my install...question - the power wire from the back of the RNS510 (that is the plug that connects to the RVC) what position should that connect to on the fuse panel...I had no 16 so is this correct? Also, in my wisdom I thought I would turn off bit 4 'Optical Illustration Active' [park/steer] and it accepted the change but now when I go to turn it back on the 'Coding rejected Error 31: request out of range' so I now have nothing when reverse gear is selected
I also tried disabling as per Bambazonke's tips below but that made no difference so going down to the dealer tomorrow and see if they can code it as I have now run out of options - I still reckon they did something when they coded the towbar just to get rid of me - hopefully I am wrong

OK - car went to the dealer today and guess what - they couldn't work it out either (no surprises there hey), although they did say that there was a wiring fault between the RNS and the camera but I can assure that is not the case, fault code below:
02873 - Control Module for Back-Up Camera (J772)
004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00100100
Fault Priority: 5
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 231
Mileage: 48888 km
Time Indication: 0
Going to disconnect the battery and see if that changes anything and then I will move to the OPS module and try disconnecting that as well. Now I have only audible rear sensors as I cannot enable Bit 4 'Optical Illustration Active' so looks like I will be getting to know my Tiggy pretty well
BIG thanks to Bambazonke for all his help as I now know where to start looking

Hi Transporter - that wasn't enabled but I did go into 10 Park/Steer and de-selected Bit 5 - Rear View Camera installed (directly below Optical Illustration Active) and it now bring this up:
===================================
13636352 - Control Module Not Coded
U1013 00 [009] - -
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 4
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 206
Mileage: 50789 km
Date: 2031.14.17
Time: 19:07:43
==========================
I also disconnected the battery to see if that did anything but I was out of luck...still comes up with the same problem when I try to activate Bit 4 - Optical Illustration Active i.e. 'Coding rejected Error 31: request out of range' so I am running out of luck. Will be checking the towbar wiring just to make sure as I am at a loss now and should have just left Bit 4 'Optical Illustration Active' alone (in 10 - Park/Steer)
Will send you a copy of my scan so thanks for all your help

**UPDATE**
OK, an interesting one with much appreciated support from Bambazonke...I disconnected the OPS wires near the fuel tank flap and of course the RNS510 complained that the OPS was disconnected so I accepted it. I then rebooted the RNS510 selected reverse and what do know the camera works as it should but with no OPS. Next step is to check out the wiring that the dealer carried out when fitting the towbar and my guess is that they have either fried the OPS unit when they (the dealer) stuffed up the wiring OR the wiring has been incorrectly terminated by the dealer - the bets are on!
