I purchased the flares about a year ago now. Pretty sure i paid AUS$550 when the EURO was about 0.60.
My uncle was in the military in Germany so he did get a decent discount from VW spare parts.
It does come in 8 pieces (2 each corner).
All hardware is included in the kit (instructions, template and plastic clips)
The flares are held on by plastic clips and double sided tape.
Hardest part to install was the remover of the old plastic wheel arch
Also for some reason the bottom corner of the front bar will not fit properly..sikaflex fixed that

I will look for the box and find out exactly what i paid for them on the weekend.
Will post it up for you guys...
    2010 Mountain Grey Auto 2.0TSI.
Leather, Bi Xenon, RNS510 Sat Nav, Comfort park, Fog lights, 4% tints, Genuine VW Narrow flares.

      Appreciate that!

Could the reason why your fronts don't fit properly is that you actually bought the 28 degree version?

That's why it would be nice also, if you can provide the VW part no. from your box.

Anyhow, just want to be sure we're talking about the same part that's listed on shop4volkswagen (given there seems to be so many versions available).

      Thanks!!!

          Thanks for the confirmation mate!

I'm comfortable now that they're the right ones (@ shop4volkswagen)!

          But one last question voption:

Can you please confirm how the flares interact with the lower skirting on the front?
Do they just go over the top of it, as the skirting is longer than the body panel.

In the kit you will find 2 stencil cutouts...1 for the front and 1 for the rear.
Place the stencil on the lower front bar and just mark out the area that you need to cut out for the flares to fit on. Do the same for the rear. Pretty simple.
If you want the instruction manual feel free to let me know. I have no use for it anymore.

Ok ... that pretty much sums it up for me!

              Thanks again voption!

Now ... do we have any serious takers or converts to bring down shipping costs (per unit)?

Yes mate ... I believe so!

At the moment, it's either i) wait to order an MY12 Tig and also tick the 19" Savanah option, to secure these flares or ii) join in this group buy!

But I only want firm numbers to secure a firm quote from the UK. And I'm only looking for 3-4 more people (tops).

However no "maybe"s please! I suggest ppl only say "YES", if prepared to pay no more than $550.

OK, I'm in but $550 would be a limit at least for now.

Any likely order will be for the 18 Degree Tiguan version:

Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions - 5N0071681041

And NOT these that voption bought incorrectly for a 28 Degree Tiguan:

Aussietig you can count me in,if the quote you receive from the uk people, doesnt exceed the accepted/agreed amount of approx $550.
If it does exceed that amount,do we have the option then,to bail out??.The reason I am asking is that being here in the far west I am still going to be up for another lot of freight charges over and above you fellas on the east coast. Is that fair or not.??
                        Phil.

                          Yep that's fine Phil!

Don't worry I'll be bailing myself, if my share of total cost is over $550.

But I hope you realise that you most likely will have to lose your mudflaps.

Certainly I'm already down to my back ones at the moment (due to install of sidesteps).

Ok ... I just need one more person to come and join the party!

                          Anyone?

Wait there's cutting involved? I was half keen but now I'm not sure. Don't like the idea of cutting up the Tig.

Just the plastic inner guard. Inexpensive if you ever need to replace it. I'm also against cutting or drilling holes and always use the holes and threads that are already in the vehicle, you should see my T5 - not one hole drilled... everything attached, bolted to the rails in the floor.

Have a look at post #34 again.

The cutting involved is minor IMO.

Basically front and back bumper (lower black unpainted portion) extends into the wheel arch area.

FWIW, I'm guessing the clips supplied will use existing holes.
