Re the wheel arch extensions.Doing the exchange rate thing they equate to $411.20 aud but that does not include postage.
The shop4 volkswagen link that aussietig supplied[thanks] says they only ship within the u.k.Can the owner of the grey Tig, Voption??
advise how his/her wheel arch extensions were landed here in Aus.
    Cheers Phil

Unless they've changed recently, they do ship to OZ.
My chrome foglight trim is proof of that!

BTW, take 20% off the list price cause we don't pay VAT.

But it's always the shipping that's a killer!

So anyone seriously interested or not?
Thinking 3-4 sets will make the shipping affordable!

Only want firm numbers, before emailing the parts manager over there for a quote!

Sure I am interested in a group buy.But if Voption can just answer my following query.Do the wheel arch flares just fix in place where the original flat wheel arch fitting goes.I.e. is it a simple case of a firm push fit or is any drilling required? I notice that there appears to be two fiffernt type of flares avail.I think on the "sport model" it shows the extensions sitting above the existing black plastic arch fitting, where the ones we are discussing here, seem to replace the existing wheel arch fitting, which imo looks the cleaner way to go.
If we go for a group buy will they be sent say to aussietigs address and re distributed on to other recipients,as I live in Perth.
Aussietig can you enlighten us to the plan
          Regards Phil

Best to PM Voption with those queries Phil!

If you believe there's two type, then best if he could confirm the part number of his also.

Yes ... I'm happy to receive these and organise interstate shipping for those needed at their cost.
I normally use this company for interstate: http://www.e-go.com.au/home.do

But like so many other group buys before ... the numbers always fall short.
Especially when ppl actually need to put their money where their mouth is!

Aussietig, if you were to hazard a guesstimate (without any liabilty for being out by a few bucks) as to what we would be looking at each for say 4 sets shipped, given the current economic situation, do you still think 550ea, or a bit less?

Philsan, was that converted $411.20 with or without VAT?

Transpoprter, can we have the related posts here put into a new thread?

I'm keen, but have to draw the line somewhere, money-wise...
              Cheers, Matt.

Personally, my line in the sand is $550 (i.e. no more than what voption paid).
Expect others to do the same (i.e. premature eject-ulate)!

                If it helps ... £273 @ 0.65 = $420 AUD. So Phil's included the 20% VAT.

But like I said ... getting enough responses is more the struggle!

Just start a new thread and tell me which posts you want to move there.

More on topic. I like these wheel arch extenders and approx. a month ago I asked at the VW spare parts, how much? It was well over $1000 and they bolt in the place. I lost the interest in them, because of the price, so I didn't ask more details, only know they would have to be ordered in.
                  Performance Tunes from $850

So does that mean you're in BB, if we're talking $550 max?

Looking at the pictures, I don't think that they're the same.

Nah ... I think they're it (if they are those fitted on the Tiguan R Line)!

Here's some clearer pics of the R Line:

First pic definitely shows the flares sticking outwards.

Now if you look at second pic, it's the same pic as that shown in shop4volkswagen (albeit a different coloured Tig) for the part number in question:

Volkswagen Wheel Arch Extensions - 5N0071681041

As far as I can work out, the extensions should come in 8 pieces in total (2 pieces per wheel).

So conclusive enough for you BB?

Nevertheless, we're hoping voption will get back to us for a 100% confirmation.

Hmm, I will think about it, but are there any other wheel arch extenders for Tiguan?
Anyhow, I'll be watching this thread.

                            Hi Transporter
Re your question about another type of wheel arch extension,if you look in the pictures thread and scroll down to a cherry red Tig which i think has what they call the sports pack fitted, that shows a different type which fits above the existing wheel arch molding and also there is another picture posted by "philthy" which shows a black or very dark grey Tig which has a wider wheel arch extension again. So who knows where all the different styles come from ?? are they all genuine Volkswagen fittings.I dont know!

Looking at some pics more closely, it seems the wheel arch extensions requires shorter lower skirtings on the front.

However our current skirtings are longer and not flush with body panel?

But how did voption manage to fit his?

Does the arch extension just cover the top of the bumper one? Because that's what it kin of looks like to me
