They are a improvement but IMHO maybe 10% to overall lightoutput which makes sense comparing 65w to 55w.
When everyone is reviewing these and making comments such as they would never go back to stock 55w i think it is overstating their case.I bought these and expected a 200% improvement given the way everyone reviews them.Logic gives you the true answer instead.

Given the chance i would save my money and not buy them as there is no noticable difference compared to stock or other cars when driving in the city.,and yes I did buy the original ones not the fakes.

For $20 I'm going to give it a gamble, but I am a gambling man

Don't suppose anyone has a photo of a legit osram 65w to compare markings?
Got any updates on those headlights?

Still tossing up ideas.. Whilst I'm sure the likelihood of the eBay ones burning the loom, I'm not 100% sold on the osram 65w off roads. If I could do all 4 for under $100 from CP as another member suggested, sounds decent what's the Kelvin rating of the off roads? 4000k? I don't want even a hint of yellow in my globes...

I'd say it's somewhere between 3,000 K or 3,500 K (probably 3,200 K) in temperature, which I think is the normal range for uncoated halogen globes.

If you want to increase the temperature colour, then you have to buy halogen bulbs with a blue coating, which filters out yellow (and also decreases total light output). Plenty of these about.

The best compromise is probably the Osram Night Breaker Plus (55W) if you want a bulb with high light output and little yellow, because if you look closely, the blue coating on the NBP doesn't cover the entire glass (there is a gap where the filament is positioned) which I assume was done to minimise loss of output.

Cool, thanks for the suggestion... I'll check them out!

These look to be Osram H7 65w Off Roads.... Price is very cheap!

              Fake's?

For that price they are worth a punt!!

team_v: is there much yellow to your's? Or are they pretty crisp white?
So i've bought these roughly a month ago and they've been in my car ever since. Not a problem. They are indeed brighter than stock. On occasion I get flashed on the freeway though with my headlights angled right up. (I usually don't keep them up but for trip from the Snowy mountains back to Sydney there was a lot of fog and decided for more visibility)

So the trip back was 6 and a half hours with a mix of high beam and fog lights in combo annnnd didn't run into any problems.

Good to hear another gleaming review.
I have been flashed once but it was by a bogan in a lowered 90's commodore so he probably copped an eyeful at regular height.
I had the headlights aimed so they just sit below wing mirror height on regular cars for the throw.

After following this thread, I updated with the Osram 65w 'off road' only globes for my Tiggy. There is a noticeable improvement in light spread and a bit in depth, but length appears to be much the same IMHO. They are still more yellow than I would like, but there isnt much I can do about that.

The driving lights are a VW type specialty globe H15. I have to confess, I had never heard of and H15. Easy to get access to, but, and this is the clincher, after a bit of web research, there dont appear to be any upgrade gloves to improve there rather average performance. The H15 are pretty specialised it would appear. Bugger!!

                  Cheers

Very good Bambazonke (grab the lot???)

I am just an old Mafoota chumemba, who is enjoying his Tiggy.

                      Cheers
