Excited to see what is on offer, even though i already have all my go fast bits.
From sounds of things the initial hardware range is going to be enough to take someone to stage 2+ along with a few other bits and pieces. No turbo kits just yet....
What performance bits do you have fitted now? From memory you're the owner of the original APR DP for Tig, Carbonio CAI and APR FMIC + stage 2 tune to suit and no muffler (must have dropped off somewhere back along the road officer). Started to look through your build thread http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...-45083-22.html to see if there was anythig else I missed, but at 600+ posts it was just taking way too long
Anyway it will be great to have some off the shelf options for guys who are looking to take their stage 1 Tigs to the next level. At the moment it seems the only way to take things further is to go for custom built hardware bits - DP being the major issue.
Hopefully soon there will be some other stage 2 Tigs running about the place to keep all the Falcodore and GTI owners honest

APR Intake, APR Downpipe, Rear Muffler delete and Stage 2 Tune (i believe the Tig comes with a High Performance Fuel Pump as standard)
Will be good to have a few more performance tig's around!
Did you have to get a special file from APR for the rear muffler delete? I remember sharkie mentioning something like 6whp gain from the delete, but can't find the post now...

No tune is required for the catback exhaust upgrades as far as I am aware.
Tiguan fuel pump is good for a K04 as is the injectors.
S3 & APR FMIC upgrade are both do-able for the Tig, just need different (custom) piping. Rear muffler delete is worth 5kw atw if I remember correctly.
I would have done both K04 and the FMIC upgrade if I kept the Tig. For me the big issue was the 6spd gear ratios (1st and 2nd being too short) and the clutch. Tried for a good 6 months to source a reasonably priced Stg2 clutch .... clip even brought 1 in from the USA that did not fit ....
In hindsight now, the DQ500 7 speed DSG (which was not available when I bought my Tig) is probably the better gbox for a performance Tig. Now that Harding Performance has fully dissected the DSGs and can do DSG ECU upgrades and DSG clutch pack upgrades, the DSG combined with launch control will deliver the best performance from a tuned Tiguan.
If I could live with the terribly small boot and the DSG's quirks, I'd buy a 155TSI Tiguan and K04 (Stg3) it ..... but the DSG's behaviour for me is unpleasant (and I have had a DQ500 7speed in the Multivan for 2 years now) enough to only want to keep considering manuals in everything I buy .....
but watch this space a Stg 3 TSI Multivan with the DSG will be in my garage by this time next year .....

Sharkie, what are your complaints about the DQ500 DSG?
Could these be fixed with a DSG tune?
Interested in your thoughts about taking a DSG Tig to stage 3. Understand in manual form you hit a bit of a brick wall with the clutch not being able to handle 240+kw.

Just looking to plan my upgrades....
For me personally the DSG is almost always in the wrong gear, I tend to drive the Multivan mostly in manual mode .... ..... in addition, the lag upon take-off is a constant pain in the back side .....
I've been told the DSG ECU tune makes it a LOT better .....
I actually get a lot of enjoyment out of changing my own gears, not stumbling upon take-off and matching gear selected to roadspeed and conditions all on my own . If I had a choice all my cars would be manual, especially so now that I have experienced DSG myself.
That said, given what the Tiguans come out with, manual gearboxes, whilst smooth have ratios too short in 1st and 2nd and clutches battle to handle even 200kw/420NM if driven enthusiastically and just dont suit power upgrades to Stg3. The DSG boxes rated at 500NM will handle Stg3 without any dramas and can now even be tuned for better performance.
When our new TSI Multivan (Audi Q5 2.0T petrol engine) arrives I wil most definately look at doing a DSG tune on it .....
On your Tig, K04 upgrade along with FMIC and exhaust (and CAI) will see you comfortably push 250+kw/500NM and drop your 0-100 using launch control to 5s or less !!!! It will be awesome. (I'm hoping to get the Stg3 Multivan into the 6s bracket )

That's one reason a number of us DSG owners have put in flappy paddles so we can over-ride the stock DSG programs.
What about upgrading the DSG clutch hardware? Will standard DQ500 take stage 3? Not sure if there is an upgrade pack for this gearbox yet. Though Harding Performance has one out for the DQ250 which is used in Golfs, S3, etc.
Hey guys,
Have a Superchips tune on a 2009 125 TSI Tiguan (old style automatic)
Just wondering what the limit is for the powertrain?
Atm it's got about 185kw/395Nm (claimed at the crank) and I'm thinking of pushing more pass the 200kw without K04.
Probably downpipe, exhaust and intake.
Any advice? Considering I have a superchips I should probably upgrade that to APR or VIEZU to accomodate for the extra hardware.
I have AT in MY10 TDI as well. It is more robust transmission and it should handle the extra torque, I would just make sure that the AT oil is changed every 30,000km.
