Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I suspect now that maybe the MY11 Tigs have a different (and beefed up) Central Electronics Control Module (CECM) than earlier Tigs or at least Tigs without xenons.
Like I mentioned, all error-free LEDs that I've fitted (whether cheap or expensive) have showed a warning on my MFD.
Any chance people can post their VCDS scan to confirm?Last edited by aussietig; 24-03-2011, 11:50 PM.MY11 Tiguan 147TSI (SOLD)

What bulbs have you guys used for the front map lights?
the LED 37mm festoon bulbs don't fit in mine as you need a proper long bulb.
The rear map lights do fit though and it makes a world of difference.

Have you tried pulling out the connectors a bit to make them touch the festoon?
If you rip out the long bulb in the boot and it fits the front, then it's a 41 - 42mm festoon.
Alternatively, just measure up the existing bulb.MY11 Tiguan 147TSI (SOLD)

The bulbs for the front lights are regular looking bulbs (like indicator bulbs or brake light bulbs etc)
Is there an LED solution to these?
Will take a photo soon to represent what i am talking about.

Here's the direct link, Team_v:
Blesk Error-Free T4W (BA9s) LED
But these are expensive as they are the error free type, which are not necessry for interior.
Also u need to double check whether these BA9 bulbs are right size.MY11 Tiguan 147TSI (SOLD)

Nice!
I like the blue speedo - matches nicely with the blue atmospherics. I have the white 2010 which, as far as I'm concerned, isn't as cool...
I think I will have to get back onto evilbay...MY10 Tiguan 125TSI | Pearl Black | Manual | Comfort Pack | Kamei Eyelids | MDI | Not Leather | Rubber Floor Mats | Kids | Random Spillage | VWWatercooled Sticker | APR stage I | H & R springs | ECB nudge bar

Hi all I have just installed a dome light unit with LED background lighting. I sourced it off an eBay site overseas. The LED's are still not working whe the park lights are activated. I have noticed there are only 4 wires connected to the 6 pin socket and a 5th grey wire has been purposely cut and the fishplate connection inside the plug is missing. Is this unique to my car? Can anybody check theirs and confirm whether they have 4 or 5 wires going into the plug.
Does anyone know where I can salvage a used 6 pin plug off an old wiring loom or a spare fishplate and a bit of wire attached to it so I can join the wires up!Last edited by Bambazonke; 08-06-2012, 03:20 PM.MY 21 T Cross 85TSI Life| Makena Turquoise | Driver Assist Package |

To those wanting to remove their interior light it's pretty simple
1. Gently unclip the sun glass holder by pulling it backwards and down at the same time. You will see 2 black torx screws do not remove these. They hold the whole frame to the roof. The removal of this part is optional but it helps when removing the vent panel described below.
2. Immediately in front of where the sunglasses holder was, is a 5cm wide vent panel, carefully press down from inside at the centre of the panel till it unclips. The panel will then fold down and allow you to unhinge it from the frame. For more info on this part's removal check your owners manual for manual closing of the sunroof should there be an electrical failure.
3. You will then see 2 silver colored T20 torx screws. Undo these and then gently unclip and pull back the remaing section of the interior light and undo the power cable to it.
4. You will then have access to the 2 globes from the top.
I haVe taken photos of the exercise but find it incredibly difficult to post them on the forum
Hope this helpsLast edited by Bambazonke; 09-06-2012, 07:32 PM.MY 21 T Cross 85TSI Life| Makena Turquoise | Driver Assist Package |
