Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Not quite, actually I'm doing the opposite team_v. I've decided to hang onto it for probably another 18 months . That means a few big trips coming up (WA inc). While I was contemplating changing soon, it would mean putting some high k's on the new beast, so might as well do it in this one. So I will miss them (already do even though only had them removed yesterday ), I need the practicality of longer travel suspension etc. Not that I'll be off-roading, just carrying some extra luggage and getting on some not so great roads.

But the bloody thing looks so high now and lost that nice flat cornering, although it still suprises how well it behaves - I guess the 19" and 145 wheels help.

To be honest, I was going to buy another second hand SUV to trip around in, but just can't go from the Tig to one of those, so the Tigs it (they're just too bloody good in every way). In fact I may even keep it long, long term and get a new M3 PE for fun blats on the weekend (IMD )

What sort of figure are you looking at for the springs?

Better idea would be Stage 2 + K04 and not bother with the M3

team_v ..... a Stg 3+ Tiguan would still be slower in ALL aspects than a M3 ...... it is an unbelievable piece of equipment. Even the Stg3 APR Golfs can't catch a very lightly modded E46 M3 around the track .... never mind an E92 .....

You're going to miss the handling clip, but I'm even from time to time considering ditching the H&Rs for some more comfort .... for a long trip I'm even putting the stock wheels back to gain extra sidewall ....

Chasing better handling always compromises comfort ....

On the other hand you can always put them back on when you're back, clip .... best of both worlds

I don't really know team_v, I guess around half price would be fair? Would rather someone here get some use out of them instead of having them sitting in the shed taking up space.

Yep, if I don't sell them then probably will at some point. They do make a big difference.

Would anyone know what the freight might be on them if I got them sent down to near Canberra? At that sort of price I am pretty interested, however they may have to wait until Feb sometime... Also, are they easy to install in the Tig? I remember doing my Torana once, but I can imagine that may like comparing apples with oranges, or even Toranas with Tiguans...

                              Hey Bungers,
I reckon the freight (auspost) would be around $30-ish, IIRC that's what mine cost from Melbourne. Install isnt too hard but apparently you need a special strut nut tool or some such thing. Don't forget you'll need a wheel alignment too. Michael down at CVWC Tuggeranong did mine, around $200-ish (including 4 wheel alignment) from memory, but that was a while ago.
