Should we develop a K04 kit for the Tiguan TSI engine?

Sorry tigga, I missed your post here.

Next one will be a 147 with leather option package (not that I'm a huge fan of leather, but the added option pakage is only available for the leather I think and they are very comfortable which is REALLY important for me).
I'll ditch the park assist, although it's great, in truth where I live there are very few times when I actually have to reverse park anywhere.

No other OEM options.

I'll add 19" wheels, upgrade audio gear (what I'll pull out of this one), and the K04 kit!!!

I'll probably also do something stupid like get a black one too! Only because this one is white - and I only really like black or white on cars (that's just me )

Hi Guy,
Just had my MY10 Tig Stage I APR done today. You know when someone tells you "you gotta watch this movie... best movie of the year," you get really high hopes, and come out thinking, "yeah it was good... but....." I guess, I had expected a bit more pull. I had sat in my friend's 2007 GTI APR stage I DSG and felt a whole lot more pull. Just a couple of things though... and probably major factors, it's an automatic and I was using 95RON.
I'm still fiddling with the gear shifting to find the optimal time to shift/downshift, and was going to pursue stage ii, but wondering if it's actually a bit of a waste in an automatic car. There's no stage ii Tiguan in WA just yet .

Btw, before stones are thrown at me.... it's an automatic because my Mrs. also drives it .

Would appreciate your thoughts guys/Guy .... and certainly if it's not just cos it's an automatic but rather the fuel, a K04 sounds delicious and on the menu!

95ron yuk...

Turn it off and you'll notice its gone. It's not a massive change on is own, but it really does make the car a bit nicer all round. My experience is with a mk v gti, but I imagine it'd be similar.

No personal experience with the Auto, but certainly get the car into 98 ron fuel ASAP.

See if you can run some 0-100 times, that's normally the big thing to see. Most people report at least a second quicker from stock to stage 1.

It's just software from Oettinger - we don't currently have any other engine performance items for the TDI engine.

A bit more pull? 400nM should be very noticable - it should be pulling like a train from around 2000rpm right across the rev range. Are you sure it is on the right mapping? To my knowldge, you MUST run 98 fuel too or you'll do possible damage and won't get the performance. Hope it improves.

"This allows for completely new and independent calibrations for each program selected giving you the best, most powerful and complete Stock Modes, 95, 98 and 104 (RON) octane Performance Modes and Valet Modes."

Since there is a performance mode for RON 95 fuel, is it necessary to run on RON 98?

if you select mode 1 that will be equivalent power output to the standard (stock) mapping (run 95 as min) - 125kw for 125, 147Kw for 147 (whether it maps slightly differently, I don't know, it feels the same as stock in the 125 anyway)
select mode 2 will be performance mapping that requires min of 98 (189kW)
Select mode 3 - valet map (restricts revs)
select mode 4 - racing map (I doubt you'd have that unless you specifically asked for it) requires 104 racing fuel (crazy cost and other issues with contamination with standard fuels).

At least that is my understanding.

You can use 95 ron & the 95 ron program, but you will be well short on power compared to the 98 fuel & 98 map. Don't forget, you will go further per tank on 98 as well.

The only reason the 95 ron program exists is some countries, that's the best you can get.

I don't think there is anywhere in Australia now that you can't get 98ron, even the cars we do in Darwin all request the 98 ron file. Tasmania did not have it for a long time, but even there it's readily available.

are you comparing sitting in one car (ie as passenger) versus driving your Tig? I ask because in my experience acceleration always feels stronger in the passenger seat, only because in the drivers seat you are braced agains the steering wheel, pedals etc and are intuitively preparing for the acceleration also. If that is the case, get someone else to drive your tig and floor it or vice versa drive the GTI yourself.

As clip said, you should really notice the difference in torque, even from 1500 rpm and certainly from 2000, its virtually unstoppable in any gear from 2000rpm onwards. likewise floor it in 2nd from say 2500rpm and it should really get up and boogie.
