Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

That's a very good mileage, I would be using the same unless I knew that the replacement will be a better/longer lasting tyre.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

47k is quite an achievement for a tyre.
I will be going kumho's on mine but i don't know if they will last that distance.

Hi Toner,
Stick with the Hankooks, unless you need better grip for offroad driving. They tend to "scrabble" a bit on the loose stuff.
Changed mine at 42000 km due to poor wheel alignment causing premature wear on one tyre, but the rear ones would easily have gone to 45000 km. This is better than I could ever achieve on at least 3 sets of Bridgestone Dueler HTs on my Forester.
Locally, its also the cheapest tyre available.

Just been through a tyre swap on my Tig and I must say I wish I'd stuck to the Hankooks,
I had the hankooks on there for 54,000k and was advised by the service manager to get Maxxis HP600 Bravos' and they were cheaper than the hankooks; unfortately I was in a bind as I had punctured a tyre with a roofing screw in the bunnings carpark; thankfully it sealed against the tyre but seeing I was close to needing new rubber I changed the lot otherwise the hankooks could have gone to 58-60k.
My biggest problem with the Maxxis tyres include visible sidewall bulge, poor wet grip & higher fuel consumption. The wet grip I've only found out today as it's rained for the first time in Brisbane since I got the tyres and on the flat taking off from the lights it spins the front wheels and traction control comes in; this is worse on a grade.
Anyway; looking at new tyres considering

Hi, my Tig has 43K in it and I am going to replace the tyres this year.
What do you suggest? I am looking for a cheaper, but silent tyre for streets and I wont be using my car off road at all.
Is it the Hankook I should choose?MY18 VW Tiguan Comfortline

The Hankook tyres won't give you more kms. We have Hankooks on Tig now and at just bit over 20k km they're probably 1/2 or more worn. I'll be replacing them with Coopers.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
