Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Any Sydney Tiguans going to Dyno Day on 17 Apr?

In case you haven't already seen, Fuzion has organised a Dyno Day for Saturday 17 April. It's an AWD dyno, which suits our Tig's perfectly. Are any of you planning on going to it?

    Details here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=41300

Actually Arctra, it won't suit the Tiguans. AWD dyno's really require permanent AWD ... The Tigs parttime AWD does not cope well with AWD dyno's ....

Best way to do it, is to disengage the Haldex clutch and turn it into FWD for the dyno run.

      Hi Sharkie,

I have seen a few S3 and R32 on the Dyno in the past 2 yrs running.

Would love to include my Bora, but instead of seeing what KW I was pulling, I found I was literally pulling due to a failed Haldex Controller and no RWD. Who knows how long it was out, but says a lot for the ESP on these cars. And now I definitely know what it feels like when the rears not working!

AWD dyno can be used in fwd only mode, as Sharkie said they just disengage the Haldex like they did with mine when I got it dyno'd. It's as simple as disconnecting the plug on the side of the rear diff. You will need to get the error cleared afterwards of course.

I'm very disappointed (and concerned) as last night I wanted to go for a drive but when I slipped it into "D" there was a horrible crunch. Transmission warning light came on and when I tried to drive it wouldn't change gear. So my hopes of going to the Dyno Day are gawn!

Now I just need to see what's wrong with the transmission.
