  • GTI Steering wheel on a Tiguan????

    Has anyone thought of the idea, (or indeed already done this) of putting a Golf GTI steering wheel onto a Tiguan?

    I guess that the MK5 would be a better suit, as the Tig is based on this style, but a MK6 would look and feel great too!!

    Could it even be done?

    I have always thought that the look and feel of the steering wheel affects your whole outloook on the car.

    Any thoughts?

    Someone on vortex did it I think, you'd have to do a search on the site;

      GTI MK5 and R32 wheels definately fit.

      MK6 GTI possibly as well.

      The only thing that have prevented me doing this to date is the cost. You'd be looking at around $600 for the steering wheel ... !!!

      Its a cosmetic "upgrade" on my list of things to do .... but far lower priority than some of the other upgrades .....

        cant say I'd be keen, standard wheel works well for me

        if doing though, question i'd have is how compatible any replacement steering wheel is with steering wheel functions, may not be an issue with other VW steering wheels, but I know the current Golf and Tig steering wheels have a number of differences. May or may not be a big issue, but I'd check it out
