Should be a little bit cheaper atm with the strong $ ....Originally posted by T&M View PostWow!! AUD$2,084.10 for the Oettinger chip. DP Chip and/or Steinbauer Chip around AUD$1300.
Also, its the only real reprogramming of the ECU .... with a warranty .... the others are piggybacks and never as good ....(or as well tested by the suppliers)
Do you want something from a VW specialist who has had a close relationship with VW for many years .... or somebody who does all kinds of diesels and think that a piggyback will properly interface with yourVWs very complex systems ....

Yep totally agree with you - wasn't aware of the reprogram vs the piggy back situation - thought they were all the same. Knew about these other brands when modding our other large 4WDs.Originally posted by Sharkie View PostShould be a little bit cheaper atm with the strong $ ....

I suggest talking to Greg Roles/carformance as he's a forum sponsor and also a Yeti 103TDI owner.
If he doesn't know what you can do to the 103TDI to make it faster then nobody will. His Yeti build thread is in the diesel section:http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...le-102058.html

Yeah suggest finding someone local that you're happy with. If anything happens you can always to take it back there for them to sort out.
Other option is CVWC who are an APR dealer but can probably do the Oetinger tune for the diesel (a lot of the APR dealers will also offer Oetinger). Worth a call at least you'll have a couple of options.

People are forever surprised by what's in mine. Being used as a tradie ute/station-wagon. Boss asks aloud "Have you got a..." I forever answer YEP... "What, here, in ya car"... YEP. Managed right, I've got a ton in there. Some...times... I need to remove the flappy cover thing, but that's it. Not including sliding/laying seats forward etc.Originally posted by Sharkie View PostI actually do think the boot is way too small in a Tiguan. ATM we have a gen2 RAV4 as well (until the R20T arrives
) and it has a much larger boot; it has less interior space though.
My mum did the numbers, when she bought a RAV4 10 years ago, the RAV4 was crazy how much it fits, and mainly - The height. You can really stack a ton of stuff, too.If you have a large family (3 kids) a Tiguan is going to be problems. I'd happily go away with the RAV4 for a week but don't think I can fit all that I need to in the Tig. I will need a roofpod or a trailer to be OK. (I can actually only get 60% of what I can fit in the RAV into the Tig)
I've been looking at roof-racks for a long time. The only thing it's missing, IMO. With a decent priced set, this car will do everything I've ever needed. For the purpose we bought it for, its fine, but it is no family car for long trips with lots of luggage I'm afraid
(unless you add a roofpod or a trailer.)
