http://tinypic.com/ I have found tinypic to be the easiest image hosting site so far, just uploads from your files and offers you a resize ouput to suit even a size which is message boord friendly

Hi everyone , Its been 4 weeks now since we picked up our new TIG (10/11/09) and I must also say that its an awesome car to drive , Specs are 103 TDI Auto in black which really does mean , Black leather which I just love, Park assist another feature which has blown us away , 18" New York alloys with continental cross contact tyres just adds to the whole look of the car and the ride is firm but smooth .

I must say the TIG aka (THE BLACK STALLION) which is what we call it for now, has got to be one of the most sure footed cars i have ever driven in my life so far.. Driving it in the pouring rain which we got in melbourne over the weekend of the 21-22 of november was a breeze. the car just griped that road which made us feel very safe and secure. The TDI engine I have to say is just beautiful yes it has a bit of lag on take off but going up hills the thing just loves to pull , you can really feel the power behind it . Over taking can be a bit of a problem but shifting the auto to dsg and drop it down a gear makes the thing pull away and over taking a breeze , just takes a little getting used to the deisel engine which we have never owned before. Also have the off road pack but still havent used it.

Ok we are still in our running in faze ,only done 1,200 km and wont be going in for its first oil change untill it has done 5,000 km well thats when they said to to bring it for the change , but may do it earlier ..Question when should the first service/oil change be done? Also we have the bluetooth option , must say in the beginning we loved it . IT could recognize both our phones after setup and each time you get into the car the phones would automatically pair up with the car .But now we think we have a problem . my partner got a car phone charger and ever since the car is not recognizing the phones automatically meaning we have to pair up the phones and car up together everytime we get in.Q2 Has anyone out there come across this or anything similar .

Over all the car looks absolutely hot and we love it .So as i promised 4 weeks ago i have posted some pix

Personal preferences vary on this but it's worth noting that they no longer run "running in" oil in engines and the "running in" period is really limited in comparison to older vehicles. There is no "need" to have the oil changed until its first service interval at 15,000km though some people do. I've been told (had contradictory info on this but it is interesting) that because of the detergents in the oil it is actually "counterproductive" to change the oil more often than recommended !! Anyway, personally I wouldn't be changing it until it's first service if I was you. My first service came at 1 year and about 10,000k and that's when it was done. In the end you pays your money and makes your choices (by the way that oil is EXPENSIVE !!!!!!!!)

                Cheers

Thanks ultra for the picks your car looks hot. I noticed that you have weather shields on the front windows. I would be interested to know what you think of them. Are they worth getting and do you know how much they are . Are they effective in keeping the wind of you when driving with the window open? Anyone else got them?

Thanks Ricardo, about the weather shields i"m really not sure how much they where, we had them thrown into the deal when we bought the car. As for how effective they are in keeping wind off you while driving with window down is useless. What they are good for is to stop the rain from getting in if you want the window open while its raining but you can only have the window open a very little bit , just enough to circulate the air in the car..

Nice mate. I think you were brave going for the Cherry colour, but it looks good in the flesh.

                          To Volkswagen Enthusiast

Thanks for your thoughts about the car. I have one thing to add what you have said. The Tigs all come with roof rails but not the roof racks. I managed to pick them up for around 250 dollars as they are worth nearly double that from the dealer and they are also an aftermarket item so they are not standard item fitted on the cars. To note we are very happy with the car and it gives excellent fuel economy as well.

Nice car, mine is down the page and it is the Cherry Red one. They are fantastic to drive aren't they. We have had ours for about 6 months now and the family love it. I would like to ask you a couple of things. Did you have the mud flaps fitted as well as the weathershields and begging for asking what you paid to have them fitted. I bought the rear flaps for mine and fitted them myself and boy what a job mthey are. That's all i was after so enjoy your new car. Trust me you will enjoy it as much as we enjoy ours.

VW Ups the Luxury Ante with Special Edition Tiguan Track & Avenue

Blogger is a blog publishing tool from Google for easily sharing your thoughts with the world. Blogger makes it simple to post text, photos and video onto your personal or team blog.

The Tiguan Track & Avenue is the latest special edition Volkswagen model to hit the company's European showrooms. It combines subtle exterior upgrades with high-end materials inside with the German firm claiming a price advantage of over €2,000 when all of its features are considered.

The special Tiguan is available in two unique exterior colors, "Oryx White Pearl Effect" and "Island Grey Pearl Effect", with the exterior package including 19-inch alloy wheels, a 25 degree off-road front end, modest wheel flares and a silver-colored rear diffuser.

The real focus of attention, however, concerns the interior that gains a high-grade leather upholstery called "Heavy Waxy" in Amaranth with colored seams.

Additionally, the compact SUV gets sport seats, an RCD 510 radio with Dynaudio sound system, "Climatronic" climate control and a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel with coloured seams while the package is rounded off front fog lights and Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic curve lighting.

Volkswagen said that the Tiguan Track & Avenue is available in four engine / transmission combinations including the 200HP 2.0-liter TSI petrol with manual or automatic transmission, a 140HP diesel coupled to an automatic and a 170HP diesel linked to a manual gearbox.

Prices for the special edition Tiguan start from €38,225 (US$56,500 at today's exchange rates) for the 2.0 TSI with the six-speed manual gearbox.

2 Pics of the interior are added as they show tan/red interior and i don't know which one is correct.
I like the red leather interior against the dark grey, however, i don't see the reason for adding 19" wheels and an offroad front end..................

Cosmetic upgrades only so far, but if this is anything like the MK5, then we shall see a few more to use up spare parts and then the next-gen Tig will be released.
