what troubles me is the people who have posted a -% discount, i.e they have paid more than retail

Spreadsheet was wrong. Everybody would have had to pay dealer delivery and rego, with only 1 exception there. I have fixed that and now the prices are better.

I noticed that too - but now they're gone.

Tell you what though, if I ever want to buy another car, I'll be calling on some of you to do the haggling for me You've done better than I did, and I was using professional negotiators!!

Just saw the spreadsheet, only a 5% discount, that sucks. I am in Vic bought it at Barloworld Moorabbin/mentone, the saleperson handling the sale made such a big deal on how good a deal I got and wouldn't throw in a couple more accesories or didn't want to cut into their commision.Forgot to mention its an Automatic(should gain me some % points) and I got the slim line Euro plates acording to my contract of purchase.

I just updated my ones details. Jumped from a 4% discount to a 9% discount. I'm happy enough with that. Great idea for an indication for prospective buyers BTW!

We have just ordered a TSI Auto, with:

                    Comfort pack
                    Park Assist
                    Sunroof
                    Metallic Paint (Silver leaf)

                    $41,770, drive-away

Quoted December delivery too, and it seems so far away now that we are waiting!!

Does this seem an OK price?

Which TSI did you order? If you open the google spreadsheet (link in posts above) and plug in your spec details it should tell you the % discount.

December delivery is pretty good with a recent purchase, I bought in late june and got told my Tig on the boat and estimated for A November delivery guessing they gave themselves a bit a of leeway so I might scrape in for an october delivery for my birthday.

Thanks. I have input my details, saved 10%. Apart from the $ saving, I tried a car broker and am really happy as it took away all of the annoying haggling.

Car dealerships are not much fun, especially on a Saturday, and the broker was quick, transparent and probably saved me $$$s. If anyone is looking here to buy, I would highly recommend using a good one.

Finally, the dealer has been really professional and helpful. Maybe the car broker takes away stress for them too!

I notice dogbowl got a tank of fuel. Thanks for mentioning that.
The dealer told me that mine was half full of fuel, in line with the dealership policy - was I happy with that?
I was, as I had to go, but it was clear that if I had asked for it they would have topped it off with no questions asked.
Might be a VW Policy, or ensuring their Satisfaction Rating is not affected - so when they ring you to come and pick up the car, all you have to do is ask them to fill the tank, and they will!

Which makes me think, how much is it (roughly) to fill a Tiguan mid week? $70-$80?

In Sydney diesel is about $1.26 a litre, so $70-$80 is if you're filling an empty tank.

When I took delivery of my Tig from Chatswood Classic Cars it had a full tank and I thought nothing of it. I didn't realise there were dealers that let new cars off the showroom floor with less than a full tank! Used cars I know it's common practice to barely have enough in the tank to make the nearest servo, but new cars... come on!
