  • I didn't get the 18s.

I dont think it's worth upsizing unless:
    A. I'm fitting big brake kits
    B. using wider tyres.

    The NY are same width.

My last car had 20" rims. I am not going through that again

    • Got offered a 155 with no options today for $44500, seems to be pretty reasonable. What do others think?

      • Is it ready stock?

        • I have a choice, there is one that's a fresh demo with only 220klms on it, or there are a few new ones due in about 6 weeks

          • Went into the dealer today to get an update, and he just got off the phone having sourced my car. Even had my order out, so bit of a psychic moment there. It is in the next shipment which is due in before the end of April which was the cutoff for the financing. The only compromise is on the colour, which is black. My preference was for the blue, but for the sake of another 4 months, I'll take that.

He also said "it's even got a camera"... I must say I was under the assumption that the camera was standard on the 155. Anyhow, total delivery time should be around 7 weeks.

Which is one of my options... so I'll just ignore him.

Midnight blue is quite dark so there won't be too much of a difference.
Well worth the shortcut in waiting times if you can settle for black (my second choice after blue)

                  • Yeah, my preference was Blue, Cherry then Black. So happy to take that. Comes with everything else including the beige interior.

                    • That's awesome. 4 months waiting time cut down!

Are you gonna get the tig opti coated straight away? It's just that most people here complain a lot about owing a black car. In case you don't worry about swirls, then just ignore my post^^

                      • Yes, I plan to do some sort of paint and leather protection. Will have a look through the forum first, but will make a seperate post about it.

                          • Greetings from Melbourne

Just a did a deal and thought I would share.

                            Tiguan MY 12 155TSI
                            Mats
Metallic paint - Deep black pearl effect
RNS510 Sat Nav with RVC Plus
                            Park Assist
                            Bi-Xenon with cornering lights
Leather upholstery frnt sprts & elec drivers seat

As per the dealers price list $58220 without mats
Per the dealers calculations, it came to $58883. They must be special mats!!!!
Anyways, done the deal of 51K flat, drive away, or if I choose to pay for the vehicle with my Amex card, it would be $52100.

Only problem is, is that there is no vehicle with those specs. It has to be custom ordered which results in a circa 5 month delay!! Really, 5 months. Is this a supply/demand problem, i.e., the Tiguan is overwhelmingly popular and supply cannot keep up, or is it something else?

BTW, I had a good (so far) buying experience. Salesperson was nice and affable, not pushy. All in all, I'm quite happy. I'm sure if I'd gone to another 1or 2 dealers I would've received a better price, but hey, I'm happy with it.

As an aside, I loved putting the gear selector into "S", it really makes the car go from ho-hum to a nasty little SUV. Very impressed. Now for the long arduous wait.
