  • I always wondered that. Why detune the engine?

I too was looking for the 132 initially because the added power wasn't important. But I do like the tougher wet 7 speeder DSG.

      Product differentiation.
If they didn't have the 132, they wouldn't have an entry level AWD option so no one would look at it.
I assume also because people go in looking at the 132 and then upgrade to a 155 when they are at the dealership.

Currently the 155 has the DSG7 over the 132 so if you want AWD and DSG then you have to go the 155 or the diesel.
The Slushbox auto is apparently better for softroading and towing though so that could also be a selling point for the 132.

There are still plenty of DSG 132's floating around and nearly all of them have comfort pack. Average price seems to be about $40/$43k but i refuse to pay that. I have my reasons, but i dont want to pay much more than about $35k for a 132TSI DSG. Dont know that i will get one for that but time will tell.

I was hoping someone on here could tell me what they have gotten one for so i know how much i of a chance i have

I can only be thankful that DSG stocks are running low - I was always after a manual so the Pacific was a bonus for me!

35k on-road sounds unlikely but good luck!

        • For me it was just all the little touches on the 155. Cost me more me in the end, but didn't want to get the car and then regret not forking out that bit extra.

          • Does the Xenon upgrade also include LED tail lights like the Golf R? and white LED on the licence plate?

It only includes the LED Driving Lights.
No LED tails or led licence plate bulbs.

Odd. This review shows the new tail lights

The Volkswagen Tiguan has been updated with a fresh exterior, revised engine range and the introduction of a new front-wheel drive entry model.

                • The key word there is "almost".

They certainly are similar in style and shape. The all red 'L'.

                  • I'm sure they're referring to the shape of the light rather than the type - I ordered my Tig with Bi-Xenons and unfortunately they don't come with rear LED's like my R

Surely it's only a matter of time before it's an aftermarket option....

                      Doubt it.
They weren't even thought of for the Gen 1.

                        • I have seen a few new Tigs in Singapore that look uncannily like a tall R. Always thought they were LED. I'll go check the showroom again.

                          • Where are you? in Singapore??

I did see a face-lifted Tig tonight and can understand how you would think it's LED....but if Germany don't have it then the rest of the world DEFINATELY don't.....btw I will eat my laptop if this were to be true!

                            • I bought the car in Australia but have seen a few Tiguans in Singapore with the L type tail lights. It took me a while to realize it's too tall for a Golf.
