Welcome to the forums surfergirl! The $50900 is a good price for the specs you have there

Hi,
Could someone please help me out here! I am looking to get a 147tsi hopefully in melbourne so we won't have to pick up and drive back. I was given this price (have yet to negotiate). We might be able to get a corporate discount as well.
42990 base
metallic paint 800
leather 3700
blue tooth 550
media device 360
sun roof 2000
dealer delivery $2995
I was told on the phone he would drop it to $50,900. This is before negotiating. I am thinking something along the line of $47,000 drive away. Is this unreasonable? I figured a 10% from roughly 52k starting price....taking into account the fleet discount and cash deal.
Please let me know your thoughts? If they don't agree to that, what else should i ask for? The idea of having 6 yr extended warranty appeals to me. Is this worth it and do you think it's possible to get given the price of 47-48k?
Thanks so much in advance for your input!

It will be interesting to see explain themselves out of why it only saves you a couple of hundred if you remove that option, but probably 5 times that amount when they told you needed to get it!Originally posted by MGV View PostOption out the paint seal & interior protection & treat yourself to a nice long weekend away... Much more value in that!
GolfR:
Definitely a waste of money!
Instead make them throw in MDI, carpet, scuff plates and/or sun blinds instead, if won't budge on price!
FWIW, I probably paid that price for mine. But could claim back the GST.
Notably had all your options plus a few more. Refer to my signature for exact spec differences.
But it cost me a 5 month wait, which you don't have!Last edited by aussietig; 03-07-2011, 11:13 PM.

TIguan 2012 Price
Hi Guys,
About to sign the dotted line for the new facelift Tiguan 147TSI.
The driveaway Price I have been offered is around $55,500k mark for the following options:
Leather
Sunroof
Park Assist
Anti Theft Alarm
Bi Xenon lights
Paint seal and interior protection
Has anybody else been succesful with getting a better deal then this? Please also advise of the dealer if you were able to get a better deal then the figure noted above, from experience with new cars, I've always been successful with getting a min 5k off the driveaway price but man all these dealers these days just wont budge!
Cheers for any input.

Also looking at the 103TDI, & the options (DSG,leather, comfort pack etc.) we want means we have to put order in & wait till around Sept. for delivery. By then the facelifted model may be in (so we're led to believe). Just wondering your total of $60k driveaway is the DSG model or the manual? ThanksOriginally posted by crazyray View Postmanage to pick up the new face lifted model for the same price as the current Tig...

Get in touch with the dealers in the forum. They have own section as well. In the mean time maybe some Tig owner around ACT comes forward.Originally posted by boltor View PostHi - just interested in any advice on buying in Canberra, ACT. Looking for a 147TSI.
Any quotes / pricing would be appreciated...

Looks like no replies to your question. That's OK - they're all outside enjoying the drive in their Tiguans I'm sure!!Originally posted by boltor View PostHi - just interested in any advice on buying in Canberra, ACT. Looking for a 147TSI.

FYI - I went to the dealership first thing Monday AM, knew my specs and how much RRP was all up. Then offerred to sign the contract + give a deposit IMMEDIATELY if they dropped the price by $5k or so. Had to start walking out before they said yes.
Tried fleet discount as well, but they weren't interested.
I'm not sure if my price is 'good' by most people's standards, but I had a $-figure in my head - and I got that $-figure so I'm happy.
Good luck with your buy.

Adelaide : only 2 dealerships, owned by the same guys. I could've shopped in Melbourne and driven it back, but time is not on my side. So I buckled down and settled on a Tig this weekend just gone.
147TSI
Metallic paint
Leather seats
Park assist
Bluetooth
Window tint
Floor mats
Plastic boot tub
Rego, etc.
$49,500.
Could've bargained more, but had to go to work. Lol!
