OK so only option was sunroof on a 132TSI Auto Pacific. I think that's still a pretty good deal.Originally posted by Bakks View PostI'm not following you - its a 132 TSI Pacific with sunroof, so not a 118 TSI with no options.
Deal was made in on 29 December 2012.
And timing was pretty good - end of month and end of year. If they'd had the car in stock you could have gone a little harder... depending on how much the dealer wanted to get another sale for the year.

I gather that's the base model with no options?Originally posted by Bakks View PostFinally pulled the trigger on a Tiguan for the girlfriend.
White 132 TSI Pacific automatic with sunroof and tint for $37,750 drive away. I suspect I could have pushed them a bit further but we had a difficult trade in which is where most of the negotiation was focussed. That said, I'm pretty happy with the price.
It will arrive in 10 weeks.
Just out of interest did you make this deal at end of last year or in 2013?
Change-over price is always the key when you have a trade-in.

I'm gathering that comment is made from recent experience....Originally posted by Bambazonke View PostThat's alot of extras..... just be careful of that as you will never recover this additional cost when it comes to trade in.
Maybe we should start another thread for trade-in prices.Last edited by tigger73; 21-12-2012, 03:58 PM.

I saw on the local dealers floor three weeks ago a MY13 103TDI DSG with beige metalic paint comfort pack and foglights for $40 750 drive away. Decided on monday morning to trade in the old Tig and buy this one.... collected it that afternoon.
So far wife loving it............. especially the DSG as the old Tig was a manual.
May get a chance to drive it over Xmas if I can prise the keys away from her!

Personally i would have stayed away from the automatic Pacific and got a DSG. The automatic is a fill in gearbox as you may already know due to no DSG boxes being in stock for these cars.Originally posted by teflon View PostJust thought I'd chime in... slowly moving away from my Japanese Turbo 4 days and will be updating the Mrs' car first. So bye bye Liberty GT and hello Tiguan.
Candy White 132 Pacific Automatic
Leather
Mats
Boot liner.
$41.7K roughly driveaway via novated lease.
Not the cheapest but a good price nonetheless and delivery expected in approximately 3 weeks which was what we needed.
Hope to be more active on these boards now... although it's her car I've already checked out some of the modifications possible!
Depending on how long you keep your cars getting parts for it may end up an issue, plus more and more people will be after a DSG when buying used cars as they will become the norm

thats about $10k worth of options you have there. the base price is around $39k for your tiguan. i think $38k would be right if you can get it down that much with out options.

I'm eyeing off the APR stage 1 too haha!Originally posted by Abuthen View PostThat was a quick delivery .. 3 weeks! Nice!
stealth mod with an APR stage 1 and she won't even know .. maybe she'll go "honey, the car is incredibly responsive"
...
p/s Liberty GT (depending on which year yours is) is an awesome car.
This vehicle had just landed and met our criteria and we really needed a second car so we decided to go ahead with it.
The GT (mine was MY05) was an awesome car and I had done some great mods to it but it was time to move on. Considering finally getting a GTI now!

Well, anyway that's the mod I'm eyeing.

A bit too late for me to squeeze the dealer any more than I've already done. I really wanted the DSG but I'll live with the auto. I think the missus will actually enjoy the drive in the auto better in the long run.Originally posted by michael_ozzie View PostSounds very nice indeed, are you keeping the regular plates or getting some Euro plates fitted? Trying to find out if the dealer can do that, as I dont want my front bumper resembling swiss cheese.
Did you mean Euro plates like the V-XX-000 that costs hundreds extra? I guess I'm keeping the regular ones.
But again, wow, a Pacific with DSG sounds awesome.
