has anyone seen or installed any aftermarket driving lights?
I was told you can't install the OEM lights, as they are all hardwired in, is this correct?

That's my Tig that's had the aftermarket fogs fitted, don't know if the OP meant those or not ?? Anyway, if you want any more info feel free to ask. For what it's worth the system I used to fit the fogs works just great.
Cheers

thanks Derek
do I understand correctly that your front foglights only come on together with rear fog light?
would prefer an independent switch.

Yes that's the way I set it up so I didn't have to buy an extra Euro switch (headlight switch) and get it all coded etc. There's nothing to stop you doing that though (getting a full Euro switch with independent switching). In NZ the rear fog (and switch) is standard so that's why I did it my way.

Unfortunately I've heard they've gone out of business. May I suggest you join http://www.mytiguan.com/ as they're based in the UK and somebody there will probably be able to help. This forum is great for us "antipodeans" but they have better access to suppliers etc.
Cheers

The lights and wiring harness will probably sourced locally or from OEMplus, however according to the OEMplus website a highline CECM will be required, does anyone know if our Tigs already come with a highline CECM?
Also does a retro fog install need a different light switch or will the standard switch be fine? How much codeing is required and do VW service centers do this on request and what would be a reasonable charge?
