Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Tiguan reversing camera

My 2012 Tiguan Pacific has a EOM reversing camera that has worked fine until about a week ago. It now shows a purplish colour all over. There appears to be no yellow /green colours. Does anybody have any ideas as to what could cause this?

It appears that the reversing camera has now completely died. RNS510 screen is now black when reverse is selected. Advice on replacing reverse camera would be appreciated.

that question is really dependant on your level of skill with tools.

It could be Camera, or RNS or cable or the dynamic lines controller if you have this option.

I'd suggest Check the connectors at the back of the RNS and in the tailgate (or controller).
To replace the camera you need to remove the tailgate handle. This is done by removing rear tailgate trim and undoing two 10mm nuts.
