110 tsi 'Limp Mode'

After a recent trip down the coast the Tig went into limp mode, won't rev over 3k. Being christmas everything is closed. I did manage to get a scan at a shop around the corner.


I believe it's the j808 Intake Air Regulating Flap that needs replacing, does that sound right? VW wants $780 for one and I've only managed to come across one used one on ebay.

I'm guessing this is a CAVD engine 118TSI?

You could try buying the part and installing it but it's a lot of money to spend if it doesn't fix the problem.
