  • Gen 1 manual SMF options?

Hey guys so I recently purchased a 09 tdi tig with a 6spd manual transmission with a noisy gearbox apparently. Going to drop box and thought its the best time to change the clutch and bearing. Is there any SMF options available in AUS that anyones used? I've done some searching on google but answers! Any advice would be appreciated ☺

Last I checked on first gen CR TDI clutch kits, SMF and DMF kits were pretty much the same price. They were LUK kits from memory.

Customer stuck with the DMF, because of familiarity, and that the previous one lasted 200K+ kms with no issues. We only changed it because the clutch itself gave out.

When I press the clutch in the noise goes away at idle, unsure if clutch, bearing or actual gearbox! Car has 180k

Sounds like the release bearing for the clutch.

I'd be inclined to do the lot, since it's all apart.
