Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Sorry, I know I should search and find the answer, but can anyone link me to quality, preferably Bosch or OEM, wiper blades for my 2010 Tiguan at a reasonable price. Online shop or eBay good as I live in the country without a VW dealer.

I buy genuine Aero wiper blade refill, Pt no 1K0955429. The last ones cost me $11.02 ea. I have found the genuine better quality than Trico brand. I still have an original fitted on the LHS of my '06 Golf but it will be replaced before winter. The secret to long life is to keep the sun off them with a sun shield when parked in the sun.
The spares dept. said that some have difficulty in fitting just the refill & consequently don't normally stock them. I agree they can be a bit of a fiddle & it depends on how much sun damage there is on the holder on whether it needs the complete new assy.
The ones I bought were made in Belgium & have an expiry date on the package.

Understand how it works, troubleshoot logically BEFORE replacing parts.

$70 for both front with free delivery. Sometimes when they have a sale even better prices. Buy my filters and service parts for all family cars from them.

The main problems with replacing just the inserts, is that some of the OEM wiper blades don't allow the insert on it's own to be replaced, and quite often people butcher the blades to fit aftermarket inserts.

I've had to replace the whole lot on both of my VWs, just to go back to genuine inserts.
