Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Auto-locking once leaving vehicle

This is for vehicles with keyless entry.
I'm sure this is a case of RTMFM, and I did! But didn't find what I was looking for.

On a few occasions I mustn't have touched the outer door handle/lock via key fob and have returned sometime later with the mirrors in their unfolded position and I assume the car unlocked this whole time.

I came across this but it seems the system is a bit too aggressive in its locking:

My Mk7 Golf would automatically lock after a few minutes of leaving the car however that did not have keyless entry.

What are your experiences and has anyone been able to code via OBD11/VCDS a way for it to auto-lock after a few minutes if the car is off, key outside of proximity range?
    Current:
    2017 Mk2 Tiguan 162TSI, R-line, White
    2020 Mk7.5 Golf R Wagon, White

I remember seeing the coding for autolock in the VCDS thread, look in there.
