Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VW Service Bulletin | replacement part on driver's seat...

Just got a call from Leichhardt VW to bring in my new tiguan for a check. Apparently a part on the drivers seat may need to be replaced. Anyone else been contacted?

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Get it done, and everything will be ok.

Hi bchuup, It seems this is not an official product recall, otherwise you'd have received a letter. What is your model and manufacture date?

Interesting if it's the seat control module.

I have an issue where it's dropped it's basic calibration which results in the loss of seat memory function. It also means the mirrors don't remember their setting for different drivers. It's booked in next week for fix under warranty.

Anecdotally I don't think I'm the only one with the same issue so that could be the reason for the service bulletin.

Few months ago read in a German car magazine that 2016 built Tiguan2 had an issue with driver's seat (welding issue with frame of seat). Risk is seat could pretty much break due to poor welding. Not that many maybe to initiate a recall. If I remember correctly was only 3 months of production affected.
