I'm wondering whether there's any chance at all that a MY19.5 SWB 162TSI Highline without any options could be had for 45k driveaway or whether I might have to increase the budget?

We'd be happy with Comfortline spec but really want the EA888.
HA Ha The base book price is just under $46k plus Stamp duty plus dealer ripoff charge ($2722in my case ) plus GSt plus rego

Comes to about $54k roughly so best of luck

    • Perhaps a touch too low ball then. What do you think a realistic target price would be?

Alto VW listing at $52,890 driveaway

      Barossa VW listing at $52,490

MY20 must be due soon (September?) so hopefully there will be a bit of runout discounting going on.

Who knows You will when you ask I only got $3k + discount off mine in March

Also from all the posts I have seen Sunroofs are more trouble than they are worth from leaks and squeaks etc

Thanks mate, I appreciate it - I've read a few threads but I'll look into the sunroof issue a bit further. I'll update once we start approaching a few dealers.

            • Hi All
We picked up our All Space 162 R line DAP, sunroof, S&V and 5 year Schmick membership for $61k in May.

I’m aware it’s not the best price but wifey wanted the last Launch Editions Blue colour

              Hope someone finds this helpful.

I'm wondering whether there's any chance at all that a MY19.5 SWB 162TSI Highline without any options could be had for 45k driveaway or whether I might have to increase the budget?

Thought I'd update this one, despite coming close we couldn't get a MY19.5 SWB Highline 162TSI down to 45k driveaway (48k was the closest we could get for a white demo with 8km).

As a consequence we won't be joining the proper SUV brigade just yet. We'll be sticking with the wagon platform (picked up a new MY19.5 Alltrack Premium with Sport and Luxury for just over 40k)

                • Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking at a MY19.5 Tiguan 162TSI either fully loaded or with R-Line and S&V package. Went and drove one at the dealership today and I must say it's a fantastic drive.

Dealer claimed he could let a new one go for $58k.. do you guys think ~$56k for a fully loaded demo is doable?

                  • You just have to make sure you're comparing apples with apples when looking at new vs. demo pricing. Usually you'll only get 3 months rego (max) on a demo so a decent chunk of the difference in pricing is going to be the registration/insurance. Also you'll lose some warranty as this starts as soon as the car is registered.

Having said that if you can get a relatively new demo for $56k it's probably not too bad a deal.

                      • Thanks, I'm headed back next week and will probably talk pricing with the dealer so that's great info to be armed with. Cheers

162 models? I'm looking at their website and they only seem to have one - but plenty of 132 under $55k.. which you'd expect.

                            • Offered 63.5k for 162 Allspace R line s&v Pano roof and tow bar from dealer in Adelaide. July (MY19) build. Am I on the money here? Or should I keep pushing / shopping around?

                              • 60 would be plenty I reckon Maybe 61 as towbar is over a grand if its the one with the right electrics. I wouldnt have a roof after reading al the troubles people have had world wide with leaking and squeaking etc
