Gotten my offer on an 132TSI comfortline allspace with luxury+dap down to $46K with 5 year free servicing. This is a demo car that was registered in June, but with only 29kms on the odometer.
After a lot of test drives in different SUVs I bought a Wolfsburg for $57,500. No Sunroof. Pickup Friday.
I have been 50/50 with the sunroof and if it was available for delivery now I would have pulled the trigger on it. The thing that gets me is the blockout level. My Wife's forester blind makes the sunroof disappear and 0 heat enter.
2.99% finance with VFS and small balloon. I used a 1.99 deal years ago for my Jetta and it was very good. Price and changeover was good - I am satisfied which is what matters.
I am slightly sad to say goodbye to the Jetta as its a little rocket of a sedan for daily commutes. Driving in "S" for the rest of the week. LOL
Now for some good front window tints and a sleek dash cam install.
I looked at the Skoda Kodiaq & Karoq, Forester, CX5 and Jeeps.
The New Forester is really good for the price, my wife has a 2 year old one that is really not comfortable due to the seat base. The new one even though looking similar addresses all these. I just really love the VW and so paid the premium. The CX5 petrol Akera is just a bit sludgy feeling and cramped for me. The Kodiaq was sludgy off the line but very obedient to drive.
Dashcam wise I am looking at the Blackvue 2ch - I will pay for the install. Probably at MC Car Audio at Moorebank(Sydney)
The Loan process is very easy. As long as you have the capacity to borrow. I previously had 40k on a car and due to regular payments over the years I ended up paying more of the balloon off making it very small and 90 days or so remaining they send you a reminder and ask for options including refinancing. Its not for everyone but $1400 or so in interest is peanuts over 4 years. Its like a fortnight/months interest when you look at housing interest payments.
This forum that I visit from time to time is a great source of information and guidance. Helped me decide how to approach the negotiation and it only really took a few minutes.
The Blackvue has full features and it would be good to see the finished product after install (see if all the wires are hidden). I like the Intelligent parking mode (although both cameras don’t point to the sides of the car (to detect dents to the doors)?

Nice! I've decided that's what I'll be going with as well.
Do you have any idea whether the dealer will honour the 5 year warranty on your Wolfsburg given it will be delivered in January 2019?
From the VW Australia page it says "applies to new Model Year 2018 and Model Year 2019 Volkswagen vehicles sold and delivered between 01 October 2018 – 31 December 2018."

Yeah, they will have to honour it as the 5 yr warranty is written in contract. [emoji3]
