How much did you pay for your Tiguan?

Hi all,
New to this forum and am in the market for a Tiguan.
Has anyone purchased a Tiguan 162 TSI with all options loaded in Sydney who may like to share an itemised invoice/quote?
Salesperson at Sydney City in Botany is under the impression that the best price any dealer has sold one away for has been $60,800, however it’s clear in this forum that this is not the case.
Your help would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance

I'm considering getting the Tiguan 162 TSI with R-Line, DAP and metallic paint if I can get it for around $56k. I'm just wondering if it's worthwhile asking the dealer for a 2018 manufacturing date or is it a given as R-Line requires customised installation?

If you’re ordering it you’ll be getting a 2018 build unless there’s something on a boat or in a holding yard that isn’t allocated. Sales do fall through/people change their minds so it does happen.
If it was a 2017 built car I’d be wanting a reasonable discount to take it. Not sure what the wait list on these is like now but you may be ordering a MY 19 spec as these start getting built in June and arriving in late August/September.

Just so people are aware (especially when talking to the dealer), there is a difference between MY18 and 2018 build.
MY18 relates to a model specification that will be built between June 2017 and May 2018.
2018 build means cars that come off the production line between 1 Jan 2018 and 31 Dec 2018.
So you'll get:
2017 build, MY18 spec (cars manufactured June 2017 to Dec 2017 )
2018 build, MY 18 spec (cars manufactured Jan 2018 and May 2018 )
2018 build, MY 19 spec (cars manufactured June 2018 to Dec 2018 )
When you go to sell a car most of the trade-in price will be related to the build date and not the MY spec, though if there are large spec changes then the more clued on appraisers will look at this but they are definitely in the minority.
There's never a really great time to buy a car. If you wait to buy the new spec (which usually lands in late Auguast / early Sept), then the car will soon be turning 1 year old. If you wait until February to pick up a new year build car it'll be the "old" spec in 6 months.
Just don't be caught out by having a dealer say it's a MY18 car and thinking you're getting a 2018 built car. Ask the question when the car was built and if it's a 2017 built car then get them to knock a couple of grand off the price as the car is already a year old (in terms of resale).

Ok yes there can sometimes be minor mid MY spec changes. And that’ll be designated MY18.5. Sometimes there is and sometimes not. But as you say pretty minor changes (some may find the extra USB ports handy though).
They’re often so minor they won’t redo brochures or specs. The sales guys will get a notification of the changes and that’s about it.
