  • Went for a little drive to Mt Franklin in ACT, but road was blocked by fallen tree.
Ended up down in the Bridabella valley.
Lots of RFS trucks on road and lots of dust.
Doesn't look as bad in pictures.

    • Now that looks a Tiguan that has been put to real use.

How did the low profile tyres go?

Definitely would have been better on 18's but went fine. Big ruts and edges on road caused a bit of suspension crashing.

For a fraction of the price one could go to SCA but these appear to be the right size.

Received this new sunshade from USA.

          Great overall coverage.

That’s interesting, as I hoping to be able to air-down with my high profile tyres. Might no be such a good idea after all.
Thanks Bunty and your Tiguan still looks how a real vehicle should.

            • Does anyone have any pics of the pano roof under the sun with the sun blind shut? Just interested to see and hear how much light comes through as I just ordered one and a little worried for the baby after finding out the blind is just mesh

It's surprising how much heat the sunroof keeps out. I never have the blind closed.

                • The blind is fine, and I don't think it adds much to the heat inside the car. I had an Audi before this that had the mesh as well and was worried at first but you'll get used to it quickly and the extra light in the cabin makes it feel much more airy.

Cheers mate, is that in the sun? Also the black R-Line shade should be darker inside again?

                    • Yep, I often leave it parked in the sun for work - the dash that gets the sun on it is way hotter than the seats that have the filtered light from the blind. It's not the R-Line, so the blind is beige and I'd say the black should absorb more on the way through.

                      • I will say that in really hot conditions on a really sunny day you can feel the heat coming thru if you put your hand on the shade.

                        • But you can’t feel the sun on your skin/face?

I live in port Douglas so it’s hot and sunnny everyday

                          • Not the sunlight but I can feel the heat coming from top on very hot days. And I feel that A/C is really struggling to cool down the car on hot days. I'm not sure if it's because I have a sunroof or Tiguans with no sunroof are the same.

Indium Grey with no sunroof. Parked in the sun for 4 hours @ 32deg outside temp. Etag dropped off the window and plastic swipe card clipped under driver’s sun visor warped.
I often feel the heat quickly coming from above in the cabin after being parked under cover. I tend to direct AC vents at the roof.
I think heat insulation in roof lining is not as good as my old Mondeo...the dark colour is not helping.
