    • i've had my allspace for 3 days and already driven about 800km i like most things about it, but i'm hating is the million rattles and buzzes in the dash and front doors. coming from a mazda 6, hat was 4yrs old and 75000kms, i'm really disappointed in this side of things. lightly pressing on the dash panels makes the creaking stop/worsen, depending on where and how i touch(and i do mean lightly) similar for the doors. some of the door buzzing i cant control. i feel it might be internal items touching on the outer door skin, or the sheet of plastic, that i assume is behind the door card.

      anyone else experiencing this? i know 1 or 2 car reviews touched in this subject, but my car seems excessive.

      i know i can take the car to the dealer and have them pull bits off, apply foam tape, snap little connectors off in the process(and hide that fact from me- looking at you mazda) and likely say "cant fix it, have to deal with it" but i'd like to know it's not common and can therefore be fixed.

      on a positve note, the headlight system is great, the various tech is an upgrade on the mazda gen1 versions, i liek that both front seats are fully electric and the stereo is fantastic for a "standard" system.

      the digital dash looks great, but i wish i could choose which data fields were present. i see no point have the fuel level shown twice and the speed shown 4 times on one face (twice as instant speed and twice as cruise speed set) i'd rather have different data fill each availble spot. doable with vcds?

      do we have speed sign recognition here?

      can i have nav directions in the active display?

      why do i have a traffic menu on the screen, but its disabled, and unable to be enabled?

        mine doesn’t seem to have any squeaks or rattles...touch wood.

        yes, you can have nav instructions in the AID

        traffic menu is available in other countries but I believe VW Australia hasn’t paid for this service

          But it can be activated in about 30 seconds with VCDS.

              Yes. And there’s even a dedicated button for it. It just won’t work until it’s activated with VCDS. At least that was the case with our MY18 model. Common sense may have prevailed.

              It astounds me that the VAG group could be so contemptuous of their customers as to build a car with this functionality, print details about it in the handbook, and yet deliberately disable the functionality to save a few buck on paying for a SUNA licence. Kia/Hyundai have it, but it seems VAG customers are not worthy. High beam assist is another function easily enabled by VCDS but is disabled by default.

              Arrogant and pointless.

              • Is there a hardware difference between 132 and 162 engines? I’ve had a 132 for the last week, as a loan car (own a 140) and it has no power in the upper 1500rpm. Feels like deliberate timing retardation, or boost reduction?

                  In the first gen Tiguan the 132TSI was a detuned version of the 155TSI.

                  In the current model they are completely different motors. The 132TSI is a high compression “B” cycle motor. The 162TSI is essentially the GTI motor.

                      • I'm finding the headrest adjustment too loose and cheap feeling. Easily knocked out of position.
                        Does anyone know how the headrest can be removed from the seat? Owner's manual not very clear on this....

                        • Hi all. Picked up my tig 3 weeks ago. Loving it so far. Agree with most about the DAP with lane assist and blind spot monitoring. Wife loves it too.

                          Few issues tho. I received it with minor paint chip that looks like touched up. Waiting for a call back about that. Its in one of the door handles and small ones on metal bits on top of windows.
                          Another thing I wanted to ask here is if anyone has issues with the automatic windows? We've experienced some weirdness where it would hesitate or go up and down when you're just trying to open/close it or vice versa.
                          Also another thing is the hesitation on take off from stop? Anyway to lessen that?

                            This is the same problem I have. My wife loves it and she wants to drive it all the time (even though it's my work car).

                            Yeah I'd get that fixed properly. It's pretty bad form just to try and touch up with a brush.

                            Yes they're a bit touchy - especially when you only want them open a certain amount.

                            Only way is to run it in S mode. Get up to speed and then hit cruise control so that it changes up. Otherwise you need to get an aftermarket DSG tune to fix it. There is also aftermarket throttle controllers that improve response. I had one on my old Tig and seemed to work OK for that initial delay - SprintBooster do them but there are others on the market too these days also.

                              • Long rant so buckle in. let me know if i should name and shame.

                                I ordered the wolfie in mid December, was told that the car would be on the feb shipment (the ones that were stuck in the ports for fumigation). Just after xmas, dealer calls up with what was seemingly good news - the car had been delivered and ready to be picked up in early Jan. Feeling good at this point.

                                At delivery day, the sales manager is already buttering me up "oh you're so lucky that your car's come in early, the other ones are stuck in ports and all white wolfburgs are sold out nationally". Another fist pump moment for me, but that's where my excitement ends and where it goes downhill. I'm inspecting the car in the showroom and notice:

                                1. small amounts of under-clearcoat brown spotting - it's a minor paint defect, i've seen it on other white cars, probably just a bit of dust got under, but it can be cut/buffed out
                                2. yellow glue(?) stains along all four door skirts - looks like measles for car but it can't be rubbed off with anything they have in the service centre
                                3. a 5mm paint chip in the rear passenger door, that someone had tried to cover up with white paint


                                At this point, I have mixed emotions. the car has paint defects from the get-go, any repairs would make it "non-factory" however it's sold out (i've been following this forum at this stage so i believe it) and i'm only human so I really really really want the car. Sales manager says that whilst it's unfortunate, I have nothing to worry about because their "authorised repairs" do superb jobs and will fix the car to factory condition "just take the car and at the 2000km check we'll get it all fixed, we'll give you a loaner, and you'll have your car back within the week". Against better judgement and the wife glaring at me, I take delivery of the car. 4am the next morning, I'm wide awake regretting my decision.

                                I know it's a long shot, but I head back to the dealer to ask a replacement or refund (I have consumer rights, right?). My dealer wont budge. I even call up another dealer and they have the same vehicle "on hold, awaiting deposit, but come in make a offer" and told my dealer that you guys are lying about the car being sold out. I ask them to raise a complaint with VW Head Office, to which they offered paint protection as compensation. I tell them to raise the complaint with HQ anyways.

                                I take the car back to the dealer in late Jan to start the investigation. HQ takes about 2 weeks to "investigate" my complaint, some excruciating phone calls and land with:

                                Volkswagen is committed to delivering a premium product experience to our customers. It is for this reason, that we offer a new vehicle warranty to provide you with peace of mind after the purchase of a new vehicle.The Paint Warranty is for 3 years with unlimited kilometres. Due to the fact that you have accepted the vehicle on the day of delivery, we unfortunately cannot concede to your request of a buyback.

                                So I'm stuck with the car. fine. Time to get it fixed.

                                5 Feb - service manager tells me car is ready to be picked up, calls me back an hour later, says that he's found some areas that the glue wasn't rectified. fine, just fix it.
                                11 Feb - i head into the dealer to chat with the general manager. wow what a jerk. started off all smiles, but when i tell him that i really don't want the car anymore, the tone changes. i ask that the compensation be changed to sun shades (for my kid) because I don't need the paint protection. he retorts with "i don't have to give you any compensation, i'm happy to not give you the paint protection at all". the kicker is when he tries to justify his dealership's response "we just on-sell these cars from head office, all cars will have some sort of issues, that just comes with car ownership". wow.
                                12 Feb - service manager tells me car has come back to the dealer, however has this "orange wash" over the car and he's not happy with the job, it'll be sent back to the repairer
                                26 Feb - finally get to inspect the car, chip is fixed, glue is gone, however the repairer has done such a rubbish job of masking up the car, there's overspray in multiple places AND there's about a hundred orange/brown dirt spots all over the car... did the paint protection guys apply their product on top of dirt?!? there's a paint protection sticker on my back windscreen, but there's no way that a proper paint protection has been applied, it's probably just a cheapo dealership wax job.
                                9 Mar - the car is ready. I'm tired, these guys have totally killed my new car buying experience. i just want to take the car and never see them again. I've inspected the car. there's still overspray in one small area. fk it. i took the car.

                                tl;dr found multiple paint defects on delivery day, took the car. complained to dealer, they don't give a damn. complained to HQ, they don't give a damn. authorised repairer had to repair the car at least 4 times over 7 weeks. never buying from VW or VAG again.
