Do you have a delivery date for you car yet? I'm waiting for an actual date, but looks like it will be the first week of April for me (10 business days from the arrival at the port, plus about 4 days with the dealer).

Not yet, I haven't even contacted the dealer yet. It has been 6 days since the car has landed in Melbourne. From the tracking system it says my car has been "Delivered From" which I assume that the customs process is complete and handed over to Patricks Autocare for pre-delivery and compliance? Then onto the dealer for a detail and a few accessories added.

Assuming all goes well then yes I too am looking at the first week of April as well. I'll give the dealer a call toward the end of next week (if they don't call me first).

Trying not to get too excited as we have a baby due any day now... (she is 2 days late).

        • Hope all goes well with the baby! Any names ideas yet? Perhaps Tiggy, or Tigger?

I was a bit impatient and emailed them yesterday, mainly because I want to swap the euro plates on my current car and put them on the new one, so I didn't want them to start preparing the paper work for a standard registration.

Thanks mate. Have a name for the baby but I not too sure how the missus would react to Tiggy or Tigger... let's just say I probably won't be alive to take delivery of the Tiguan.

Good idea on the plates, I'll swing by this arvo and drop my plates off at the dealership.

Not long now buddy. 2 weeks!

            • Hey guys. Can anyone tell me what the button to the right of the close-boot button does (on the open boot door)? The button on the left closes the boot, but I just can't figure out what the other button does.

Confusingly, the manual describes the left button as, "(1) Closing the boot lid electronically" and the right, "(2) The boot lid closes automatically".

I think if you have button 2 activated it automatically closes after a period of time, or when you walk away from the car.

Close. It automatically closes when it senses you walk away.

Push the button. Then grab your shopping with both hands and walk away. You don't have to reach for a button when your arms are full. Clever.

                  • Thanks guys. I'll try that button again tomorrow. Who'd have thought boot closing could be so much fun

Wait for someone who will open boot below low ceiling/open garage door There is no "distance sensor" on boot door when opening. That's why I didn't decided for this option in my Tig.

Other thing, I checked AU website for pricing and my thoughts:

                      - it looks like you have cheap cars
                      - you have very short options list ... it's sad

For example, I choose 132kW TSI engine with 4-motion and AT with Highline version. You can't. My options list had more than 20 checkboxes with addon features.

                      • So yesterday I was the unfortunate victim of a nail in the right rear tyre, took it to tyreright and the bloke (and I for that matter) didn't realise the tyre was a "conti-seal" tyre. I've never owned a car that had this type of tyre before. But after he opened it up, it was full of Sticky tar like matter inside, so he had to put the rim back on and all he had to do was pump the tyre up again and pull the nail out, within 2 seconds the hole was filled up and I was off driving again. Like I said, ive never had this type of tyre before, but good to know that I don't have to take it to the tyre shop to have it patched up. Thought I'd let everyone know. FYI this is on the 20inch Suzuka rims.

Hey Mate... good to know thanks...What tyre brand have you got on yours, curious to know if theyre all the same for the Australian market?

You can however set the opening height. So, if by default it opens too far for your garage, you can set it to not open is wide (high).

You can change and set how far the boot opens
