That sounds similar to the current lane assist feature. It beeps you after 15secs, then again after another 15(ish)secs, then taps the brakes, then stops the car(but in your lane)

The way I read it, they are slightly more advanced than the current semi-autonomous on the Tiguan - eg slow down for speed signs, better at taking curves/corners etc.
I find my car is fine on Freeways and slowly winding roads, but any crests or missing line markings and it does get confused - especially exciting when it does it mid-corner2018 Allspace 162TSI R Line

I forgot about the hazard lights(they come on too)
Cars in Europe already have the auto braking and self-adjusting cruise control for speed signs (tiguans, passats, maybe golfs) they have since 2017 anyway. Maybe earlier.
Will be good if our domestic systems can make use of the features that many cars are already capable of.

Things I love.
The room - for the size this is seriously a roomy ride. No one in our family is under 5’8” and we can all take trips comfortably.
Boot space - bigger than expected
Drives like a dream in any mode
Carplay is seamless
love that it automatically switches between two phones without having to disconnect and reconnect thes second one
Things annoying me (mostly minor)
The windscreen wipers are crap - minor annoyance and was the same with our Golfs, I would prefer not to have the 5cm smear across my direct view while driving
Collision avoidance system - has gone off while driving in a straight road with nothing oncoming. Swear I got whiplash when it suddenly braked. Same with the parking manoeuvre braking. I park in some tight spots. Same spots I’ve been parking larger vehicles in, so I know the clearance. Blooding avoidance thing will brake for no reason. Have had to turn it completely off.
The ‘swing your foot under the bumper to release the boot’. It’s worked exactly once, Feel like an idiot standing there kicking at my bumper with my hands full.
Like Vietbargin, my original dealer has gone silent with answering any issues. And I was pretty honest with the survey they sent this week in regards to their after sales service.
"The windscreen wipers are crap - minor annoyance and was the same with our Golfs, I would prefer not to have the 5cm smear across my direct view while driving" - With new wipers there is sometimes some kind of coating on them which causes the smear. You need to give it a wipe down with some water and it'll work fine.

I have a question. When going to set my own individual driving modes, it has both DCC AND ACC. Going through them manual DCC seems to refer to Dynamic Chassis Control / Adaptive Chassis Control. I'm assuming therefore ACC refers to Adaptive Cruise Control... but how does changing this setting affect cruise control? I mean, you can pick 'sport, normal or comfort...

Have put over 9000 kms on my Tiguan 162TSI Highline R-Line Allspace and am loving it heaps, however an unusual knocking sound sometime occurs on cold starts that lasts for a few kms before disappearing. It often occurs after a day (or more) of not driving the car.
After engaging either D or R there is sometimes a 'stickiness' which I assume is caused by the parking brake not fully disengaging (latent fusion/bonding between the disc and rotor? - it seems worse after wet weather). On some occasions I have had to gun the engine to overcome the stickiness and get moving at which point there is a loud sharp knock. Afterwards there is a rhythmic dull knock that increases in frequency as the car accelerates. This eventually dissipates after a few kms.
Has anyone experienced something similar and/or can offer a diagnosis?

Yes definitely brake pads sticking to the rotors. Try getting the slide pins lubricated. I get a heavy clunk after washing the car if it sits until the next day.

If it’s in sport, and the car drops from 100 to 60 because the person in front is turning, the car is gonna gun it back to 100 as soon as it’s clear.
If it’s in comfort; it will be a bit more relaxed about returning to speed.

Had my 162TSI R-Line for just over a month now. I do love driving it, but the throttle lag is starting to bother me more and more. I've been driving my wife's 2017 Golf 110TSI Highline the last couple of days and that actually feels noticeably more responsive than the Tig. It will be perception only, but that lag actually makes the Tiguan feel slower than the Golf around town, and in a couple of cases I've found it borderline dangerous when I've gone to change lanes to overtake and the lag has meant another car has then beaten me into a lane change or I haven't been able to pick up speed as fast as I should have against other approaching traffic in the lane. You can get used to it and can compensate, but it's not ideal. Is a lot better in Sport, but you can't really use that around town as it holds the gear way too long after you've come off the accelerator.
