Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What did you do with the back plate, if anything?
Yeah it's a much cleaner look then the plastic licence mount. Painted my own instead of paying $100 from bumperplugs.com cost me about $20. Had difficulty finding the right size plugs, ended up going to a panel beater and got 4 for nothing from there stash.

One more question, how much clearance is there b/w the roof and the underside of the stealth bars?

Sorry about the delay, it's about 15mm on the front and 20mm on the back, from roof to bottom of the bar.

Because I'm not sure about accessory offer in AU, I wanted to share with you some photos of two extras I purchased in PL for my Tiguan. I'm not sure how them call properly in English, but I'm sure you'll understand what I mean

              1) double sided boot matt - part number: 5NA061210

I'm sorry about it's dirty, but it is actively used

And something extra, that you can't learn in dealer house. It's not only double sided with "tongue" to protect bumper.

It is also double sized, which means when you fold rear seats it can also cover back side of them

              2) "cage" to separate boot from passenger zone - part number: 5NA017221

              Overall view with stabilizing rubber

              Frames and screws

              Mounting or right frame

              Mounted left frame

Point of contact with the car

              Mounted - overall view

Mounted - view from rear mirror, but on photo it looks like it takes more view area than in real life

I know its not everybodys taste to have it, but these slimline ones looks like a good compromise
Yes, my 132 came fitted weather shields all round. I've never had them in the past so would not have got them, however happy have them now.

Hi. Do they work with the panio roof?

                    Jut taken from rhino,

Panoramic glass roof must not be operated with Roof Racks installed.

I bought the Rhino Vortex bars for my roof mounted LED bar, in case I forgot and opened the sunroof with the roof bar on.

These give heaps of clearance when opening the sunroof.

Light bar lol, got pics let's see....... I was thinking about some led lights but would do it bit more stealthy I think.

Hi Tigger162 and not sure what you mean by “stealthy", these are pretty rigid and nothing beats roof mounted lights for improving night driving safety.

Here are some photos of the roof mounted LED bar on my Tig.

Just wondering how the roof racks are going so far, do you notice much wind noise from them?
Also do you know what VW's maximum roof loading rating is?

The VW approved roof rack is able to hold up to 95kg so I assume it could be around that?

the rhino range are 75kg, which is sufficient I'll never load the roof that much anyway, they also have lifetime warranty. As for noise I here nothing at all which I'm really happy with. As for rated roof limit, no idea..
