Might need more convincing on the smoked front headlight and exhaust treatment though.

Hi all - I have a 162 Highline (no R-line pack) and thinking about fitting the R-line 20inch wheels. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm particularly interested if and how the ride quality is compromised given the standard Highline doesn't have the Adaptive Suspension that comes with the R-line pack. Any thoughts?2017 VW Tiguan Mk II - 162tsi Highline - 118,000 km

There’s some nice Audi wheels if you want to stay with OEM look.
In terms of going from 19” to 20” there will be an increase in how firm the car rides due to less sidewall but it’ll be incremental increase. The only difference is you don’t have adjustment in your shocks they are fixed rate.

Iso I was considering getting a second had RS3 or even S3 on the cheap to replace the once new Tiggy but we just had another baby and the mrs wants a new house next year so I’m being a good 30-something year old saving my pennies.
This doesn’t mean the Tiggy can’t get lowered and an exhaust to complete the upgrades.
I want to lower the car more than 1.2 just using springs. Maybe like 2 inches would be perfect for me. Any ideas who or how? Don’t mine a stiffer ride as i find the tig super plush anyway.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Yes I want to stay with the OEM look and keep it simple - I like the look of the Suzuka's and I know how they look rather than trying to visualise what something might look and be disappointed, and not fussed what others think re 'copying'.
You mentioned the weight and that the Suzuka's are heavy....is this a problem?2017 VW Tiguan Mk II - 162tsi Highline - 118,000 km

However they aren’t legal to run in most states in Australia. You end up having to run longer wheel bolts and it increases the stresses on the bolts/hub.
You’re much better off getting a wheel with the correct offset to start with and this solves all fitment issues and requirements for spacers.

Originally posted by southtigSome people have gone with the Suzukas with 20mm spacers and had great results but I wanted to go with a legal wheel size. Here in SA you can change the track width by a maximum of 26mm, meaning a 13mm lower offset per wheel.
I have gone for 20x9+26 AEZ Panamas and since the car is brand new I'll swap the oem tyres onto them. Will post some photos in the next few weeks.
Shipping weight is 5kg per wheel. I'll weigh them and the Suzukas and post them here when I get them off the car.
Suspect they've underquoted that shipping weight or it's a typo. But if you're dropping 5kg a corner I'd not want to get in a car with a driver who couldn't spot that difference..
For whatever reason the powers that be don't like us having spacers here so as much as I would love to use them and I post a zillion pics with them used, I'm just not willing to risk voiding an insurance claim if the worst should happen. But have no issues with people who take the risk.Last edited by Dutch77; 21-09-2020, 07:51 PM.

They couldn't possibly weigh more than Suzukas could they?
I think someone on here suggested 30kg for the wheel and tyre combo, tyre might be 12.5kg.. implying perhaps 17-18kg for a Suzuka.
What color Tig do you run southtig? That blue cap might need to be changed up..
