Assuming they're unmarked then something starting with a two will be on the money - unfortunately knowing they come with such a fat margin hurts the resale even more.

So the $3,900 price is $800 off full RRP.

Though having said that they were 30% off last Xmas so around $3,300 a set (which is when I bought mine) but I haven't seen them on sale like that ever before. They must have really needed to move some stock - or pay for the bosses new toy.

Doesn't matter what was paid for them, it's what they're worth second hand. If someone is that desperate for a set and can't wait to swing a deal for a new set for a lot less then good luck to all parties.

But knowing they were discounted that much once means you know what you can pick them up for - I wouldn't be buying a new set in Tiguan sizing if the price didn't start with a 3.

I don't disagree. The only reason I have HRE's on my Tig is the price for a set of 4 started with a 2. Otherwise I would have been looking at second-hand Audi wheels.

Agreed, finding a set of series 1 SQ5 21" Stars would have been great for OEM+, but that HRE price at the time was a no-brainer. Unlike ~$4k for a second hand set.

At least the Long Weekend in some places has brought out some goodies.

I've gone back a couple of times to work out whether I dig this or not, eventually I have concluded this is a sweet OEM+ finish, although running licorice straps on an SUV necessitates much lows.

They wouldn't be easiest wheels to come across except in Europe where people mod everything.

This one is a full doors off paint job so definitely gets some credit for attention to detail. I'm still not sure if I was going to go to all the effort that I would paint it Nardo Grey but each to their own I guess.
