The APR S01 forged wheels are more than double the price of the A01 flow formed wheels (US$825/$899 vs. US$399 per wheel). I haven't priced these locally but I would expect the flow formed would be in the vicinity of AUD$5-6k depending on which finish you go with (machined or brushed gunmetal).Originally posted by Tob35 View PostHas anyone priced up a set of the APR forged 20" wheels? Or know who the OEM for them is?
I haven't seen any of these fitted up to a Tiguan mainly because the offsets are not that aggressive and anyone looking to spend $5k+ on a set of wheels probably wants them to fit "flush".
Specs are 19x8.5 ET45 (good fitment for Golf) or 20x9 ET42 (more for Audi). You could run the 20's on a Tiguan, however that's a pretty mild offset and for those sort of $ there's probably a few other wheels I'd look at.
Although not a Tiguan, here's the S01's on an Atlas:

You're right the 20's only come in the forged series and not the flow formed. They are pretty pricey but that's not that unusual price for a decent forged wheel. I'm not sure where these come from. Almost certain they're made under license from one of the wheel manufacturers.Originally posted by Tob35 View PostThey look pretty sweet. I thought only the forged came in the 20s.
But for the price I think both are well out of the budget!!
For 20" wheels you'll get a reasonable number of Audi rims that will fit up to the Tiguan if you want to go with the OEM+ look. YOu can often find this in reasonable condition for $1,000-$1,500 for a set.
If you want to go for new wheels I'd budget on $2,500-$3,000 for a set of decent 20" wheels. New wheels are not a good investment as they pretty much halve in value when you put them on your car.
I would personally put second-hand OEM wheels on rather than a set of cheap replica wheels if you're on a budget.
Something like these Audi Speedline rims: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melb...ims/1207073552
Or these TT S Rims: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/rose...oem/1206955853
Or these RS4 V-spokes if you want to go aggressive: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/broa...res/1206929855

I haven't personally but they're available from some of the usual "rep" seller sites. They're a Chinese manufactured wheel with some local machining for bolt PCD and offset.Originally posted by Tob35 View PostKoya wheels. Has anyone had any exposure?
Probably better than no-name "reps" but can't really comment on quality as I have no first-hand experience. Though it's a bit like putting JDM wheels on a Euro car. Some people wouldn't do it. But who am I to make judgement as I'm putting US wheels manufactured in Japan on a car built in Germany

Just whittling down the list of wheels to check out.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostThough it's a bit like putting JDM wheels on a Euro car. Some people wouldn't do it. But who am I to make judgement as I'm putting US wheels manufactured in Japan on a car built in Germany
Lol. I put Enkeis on my MK6.
It's funny how some people get wrapped up in country of manufacturing to decide what can and can't be done when looking at wheels.
What's the 'rule' for wheels on the Allspace?
