I'd concur, particularly Euro based, as mbDesign wheels are popular in the after market scene over there.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostActually on closer inspection I think it may be a 2019 Touareg... running mbdesign KV1 wheels:
About time someone picked up their distributorship here.

Well we know which one would be belching black smoke, cutting off traffic and wanting to drag at the lights all the time.

Just after one week after receiving my new Tig, I've hit a curb while navigating a very tight car park, initially thought I just hit the tyres but somehow it did quite rash on it
Need your guys thoughts if this can be repaired easily or if I need to replace the rim? Am curious to find out how much the Suzuka rim costs.
P.S. heart still achingTiguan Highline 162TSI | White | R-Line | S&V | Sunroof | MY19 (

That should be repairable. Need to take it somewhere to get the tyre stripped, machine the face, re-apply clear coat and refit and balance the tyre.Originally posted by jolv View PostJust after one week after receiving my new Tig, I've hit a curb while navigating a very tight car park, initially thought I just hit the tyres but somehow it did quite rash on it

It’s not a cheap exercise but a lot less than a new rim. Generally only have to replace rims when they are buckled or have taken a big hit and created a flat spot/gone out of shape.

It won't be cheap. To fix this properly will be ~$400 due to all the processes involved. That's the problem with machined face wheels. They are very expensive to repair. It's not like painted wheels that can just be sanded back, filled and repainted.Originally posted by jolv View Postthanks tigger, I'll look for some quotes!
You may find it's just about the same $ to get all 4 wheels painted - if you wanted to go black like the Wolfy.... personal choice of course.
Otherwise you can look to see if you can find a single rim being sold. I have seen the odd set come up but not many people would be willing to split a set unless there's one with significant damage.Last edited by tigger73; 18-11-2018, 06:34 AM.

I'm typically not a fan of all black, but damn that's a good looking setup.Originally posted by tigger73 View PostActually on closer inspection I think it may be a 2019 Touareg... running mbdesign KV1 wheels:

Take advantage and hide those Suzukas in black, or better yet - a much nicer set from something in this thread.Originally posted by jolv View Postthanks tigger, I'll look for some quotes!
As tigger said, look for single rims being sold, they seem to come up pretty often via wreckers or people making wise choices and ridding themselves of these wheels.. the dealer price will hurt a lot more than that rash did!

Agreed, and agreed.Originally posted by PDMJO View PostI'm typically not a fan of all black, but damn that's a good looking setup.

I don't mind concave for some aggressiveness, it can be achieved on the Tig without needing to be to extreme fitment wise because of the extra width and lower offsets the stock car can take compared to the Golfers. The flipside is it looks ridiculous unless you're willing to also drop a reasonable amount. If not I'd stick with something flatter.

The best thing about the Tiguan is that it can run a fairly aggressive offset and get a decent amount of dish on the wheels.Originally posted by PDMJO View PostI'm typically not a fan of all black, but damn that's a good looking setup.
