Our MY21 Allspace R-Line has been going pretty well - 6 months in and 10,000km. Yesterday driving the kids to an outing the low engine oil warning came on - we pulled into a servo and I checked the oil and it was indeed low. I did a top-up which removed the warning - but I'm wondering is this normal for a Tiguan? It's the first time I've had this happen to a new car I've owned and had dealer serviced - and we had this car checked at 1,000km no issues.

Even on a new car I check it every WEEK whether I use it or not. Wouldnt be the first time a union has come loose or a hose splits.. Cant believe some are so slack.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

No I haven't checked it - neither did I check it on previous cars. I get all my cars serviced within the service schedule (15,000km or 12 months whichever comes first) and haven't had a problem before.

When we were vanning full time I checked oil, water and tyres, EVERY morning before doing anything else, whether car had moved or not.Last edited by Guest001; 26-07-2021, 02:14 PM.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

I have more respect for any machinery than that. When bus driving we were made to kick tyres check oil and water and that it had been fueled EVERY MORNING so I do my cars weekly as dont use them every day..
I had a Bluebird Diesel that used a pint every 1000k Never needed an oil change because with constant top ups oil was always fresh LOL2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

Every morning is not extreme when the vehicle is doing about 650k in a day, same with my taxi. Is called preventative maintenance and if anything happened and it wasnt done we would have been down the road.
Once a year is plain lunacy
Why dont you ask for its VIN and track it. Easy to do as I tracked our Skoda every inch of the way around the world till it arrived in port on Saturday. Ordered April 10th arrived July 18th in BrissyLast edited by Guest001; 28-07-2021, 09:11 PM.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

Hi,
Just managed to order a Tiguan Elegance 162 which apparently is built and now waiting to be shipped. Years since I owned a VW Golf, so things appear to have changed somewhat. Is it still possible to track a Tiguan from the factory by using a VIN? I found an old thread which had a link to a shipping company, but that does not appear to work anymore. My vehicle is "supposed" to be on the wharf awaiting a ship.MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

I ordered a black Tiguan 162TSI R-Line with the Sound & Vision package and the Panoramic Sunroof on the 19th June. I was told it would be delivered in August. Apparently someone had previously placed an order for this exact spec and their finance didn't go through, and I was in the right place at the right time, which probably accounts for the comparatively lower waiting period.
I happened to be looking at the VW Australia website today, and strangely the Tiguan 162TSI R-Line is no longer listed there. I know it was there before because I selected it to build and review my preferred spec pre-purchase, and also used it again post-purchase. The 147TDI R-Line is still there, as well as the 162TSI Elegance and all the other trims.
Seeing that, I decided to check if there happened to be any stock in the country, so I used VW's stock searching tool, selected each capital city in the country one by one, and entered a 500km radius each time. I found no stock at any dealership that wasn't a not-for-sale demo model. To be fair, I didn't really expect to see any, given the high demand and limited quantity, and so many waiting on builds to come off the line. But then again, I found stock of every other new Tiguan model and trim, including the 147TDI R-Line. I know the 162TSI R-Line accounts for most Tiguan sales, but still...
In any case, this prompted me to call the dealership just to confirm that my car was on track to be delivered this month, as I haven't received any notification about it. The salesperson I spoke to was on RDO, so I left a message to be called tomorrow. Now Dan Andrews has declared a 7 day real snap lockdown as of 8pm in Victoria, so hopefully the sales team are working from home again, and I'll hear back.2021 Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg Edition (Black, Panoramic Roof)
