I called 2 dealerships showing a tiguan R line in stock this week, first dealer said they sold it yesterday. Second said they don't actually have the car, they were using it to advertise they could "get" one.....a VW dealer needs to advertise they can order a VW on the VW website?.....sure buddy.

When you say "in stock", do you mean that the cars were on the VW Stock page? Or from the individual dealers sites?
When the car in stock is genuine, there is usually a VIN number displayed. No VIN, no stock.
I notice this morning that on VW Aust. website, under Stock, that there are no R Line Tiguans showing.
Another way of finding if a car is where they say, is go to Prixcar's site, Track & Trace | Prixcar Services, at the top of the page select "Dealer Vehicle Tracker" and input the VIN. Once the info is displayed, select the "Vehicle ID"Last edited by allypally; 31-10-2021, 06:58 AM.MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

Yeah they all had VIN numbers, all 3 were removed after I called about them as well. Thanks for the tip above thoughOriginally posted by allypally View PostWhen you say "in stock", do you mean that the cars were on the VW Stock page? Or from the individual dealers sites?

Mine "should" now be sitting on the wharf at Port Melbourne. The same ship is currently offloading VW's in Port Kembla.MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

Hi all,
A few quick questions - apologies if these are answered recently, I did trawl back through the last few pages of this thread.
We've recently been foiled trying to buy a new Allspace - by the time the lease finance was approved the vehicle they'd told us was available had gone. Now being told next available car will be May '22 if we sign the paperwork today.
I'm a bit leery of that with the updated model due sometime next year - does anyone know of a solid ETA for them yet ?
I've noticed in reading posts here over the last week or two that it seems like there's been some changes in the Tiguans/Allspaces over the MY19.5/MY20/MY21 years - eg: I think I saw someone say the MY21 vehicles have the most recent entertainment system but that this can't be updated because it's reliant on VW online services that aren't available in Oz ? And something else about personalisations tied to the key fob not being available in MY21 cars ? Does anyone have a list of these changes ?

The latest shipment of VW's arrived last week, and these are MY22 cars. My suggestion would be to look at VW's stock website and watch out for an Allspace. These come up regularly as often persons who initially ordered the car got sick of waiting so cancelled. Their site is currently showing 64 Allspaces in stock.Last edited by allypally; 08-11-2021, 02:00 PM.MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

I heard yesterday that from the latest shipment arrival, there are approx 750 VW's sitting on wharves in Australia awaiting some software update prior to shipment to dealers. Mine is part of this, and has been sitting on a wharf for over 10 days now and still not processed by Prixcars. Apparently the software takes around 40mins to install. Supposedly, priority is being given to "sold cars" as opposed to "stock cars".MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

I started a thread yesterday questioning this myself.Originally posted by allypally View PostI heard yesterday that from the latest shipment arrival, there are approx 750 VW's sitting on wharves in Australia awaiting some software update prior to shipment to dealers. Our 147TDI Elegance was shipped from Prixcar Melbourne to the dealer late last week and I've been told that it cannot be registered until the software update is done.
I have what I believe is the VIN and was told it was built in June. It arrived around Sept. I'd be keen to try and see when exactly it was made. The VIN ends in 86281
edit:- forgot to add ours is listed as MY21 on the sales contract signed on Oct 26thBeigeJet

Looks like that White Tiguan Elegance landed in Sept, and delivered to Mildura on the 1st Nov. It is a MY21 car. My guess is built around May. I was told that the software update was to be done only by Prixcars prior to dealer delivery. I have since noticed that Tiguans which were offloaded at Port Kembla around 3rd of Nov, which was 5 days after mine was in Melbourne, have already been delivered to dealerships. Something smells and I hope my dealer can be upfront and tell me the truth. If they are saying that the cars cannot be registered prior to this so called software update, it sounds like another Volksgate where the emissions are not compliant, or something in the electrics which is legal in another country is not legal here.Last edited by allypally; 12-11-2021, 05:18 AM.MY22 Tiguan 162 Elegance

Interesting that you picked the correct colour. Do you have a website to share?
I agree with your thoughts on a Volksgate (dieselgate) or electrics compliance issue.
A lot of European made vehicles have struggled getting WLTP testing for fuel consumption data.
And with the myriad of safety features, matrix lighting and other electrics, I'm guessing we will never know the truth of the delays.
