Rang up my dealer today. It seems he might not be able to secure a Wolfie for me. As per the dealer, he has tried contacting all dealers across Australia but with no luck. He will confirm by this evening but chances are bleak. In the end I might have to go for just Rline. Do you guys think I should speak with other dealers?

Absolutely! There will likely be no dealers prepared to swap.

Everyone will want to hold onto their allocation. If you want one do the legwork and ring around dealers.

Check on carsales if there’s any listed there and also on the VW dealers site as a number of the dealers list their new stock on that site also. The only bad thing is you have to search 1 by 1 but probably cuts down the number of phone calls you need to make.

I recently signed for a MY19 Highline 162TSI with R-Line and Sound/Vision packs.

The dealer told me the car had just finished being built and was due for shipment any time now with delivery to port around the 18th of April.

They also said I’d get an email update from VW when the car was on the way, but I haven’t got anything yet. Has anyone else received a similar email?

Congrats! You got a 2019 build car!

Ask dealer for the VIN & COMM number (for yr records) & ask for the ship name when they have this info in the next few weeks (to track the ship progress)

Nice! I did some 'reverse engineering' and it looks like you can check out WWL's routes on their website. Looks like there's two of their ships due to land in Fremantle on the 10th of April, then the 23rd of April. I guess the 18th is a dealer estimate date and will be confirmed once the car is actually loaded.

I think I missed the auto-generated email for build completion since I signed after it was built. Going by the above shipping schedules we should both get a shipment email within the next couple of weeks!

Yep. I never got any emails at all until after delivery.

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I struggle to not track express parcels within Australia.
