So far so good but scratched the rim after 2 hours of owning it

Hi all, new to the forum based here in Perth.

Placed an order for a grey highline with r line and sound package. As i've asked for a 19 build I am told to expect a late April delivery which suits me fine.

Can someone please tell me how I can track the build and journey from Germany? I havent received any VIN number as yet. Did the factory close over Christmas? Assume it is back into operation now?

Congrats Rose! Dark Grey is a nice colour!

2019 build cars would start in Jan and normally delivered in March but due to Stink bugs issue your car might be delayed.

Good news is since you are in Perth the delivery is quicker (then in the eastern states) so end of Mar or early Apr is expected.

The dealer stock controller might be able to find a car which is onboard a ship and headed your way! So ask yr dealer for the COMM number, VIN & name of ship (if in-transit).

I doubt it. once they discovered the issue, cars were built/delivered with the ambient lighting disabled

If anything, i would expect the newer deliveries to have it enabled again?

This issue was discovered early 2018 and a recall in July 2018 for models dating prior to MY18.

Builds starting in July 2018 (MY19) don’t have this issue because the feature has been deleted.

Yesterday at dealership I asked a question of how should I drive it for first few thousand kms, to run it in and I got told for first 5000km drive it like you stole it because that’s when microchip learns the most of how the owner wants it to work and so on, are we all on the same page with that or???

I would drive it normally as you would (suburban routes, highways, motorways etc) so the computer can learn your style as an everyday drive.

If you thrash the car and the computer learns yr driving style as a goon then it will drive like that all the time which is not comfortable.

Manual says to not redline/foot to the floor or tow for first 1000km, then work it up a bit until 1,500km.

Many have launched it out of the carpark and been ok as well.

I personally avoided launch control until after 1,500km but drive it like I normally would until then as well.

I’ve tracked mine to Port Kembla port, arrived on 2nd Feb.

Still waiting on ETA from Sydney dealer, they are unsure as well. Original delivery date was 31st Jan, then 8th Feb, but given today is the 6th and even the dealer doesn’t know I’d say the date will be revised again.

Nope, 100% stock for me. Hmmph, now I’m a little worried. If it’s 3 weeks from 1st Feb, I’ll have a problem. My last available date to pickup is 20th/maybe 21st Feb then I’m off overseas for 6 weeks on the 22nd.
