Yeah it's super frustrating. My dealer told me that the most common cause for this is moths, which are supposedly quite common when the ships come to Australia via Africa, and the other common cause being sea spray.

Either way, February is looking more realistic

The status hasn't changed from the arrived on 10/12 for me either, although the dealer says to expect in to them on 16th. we shall see. More unsettling is the 'sea spray' option! really? Aren't they supposed to be IN the ship? Either way if it's any consolation looking at the tracking, it seems NONE of the 700+ vehicles that were discharged from the Grand Hero at Port kembla have been released.. so don't give up.. yet.

Hello all, I finally received the "im built" email yesterday after waiting for ages. Hooray!

Few curious questions;
Do you think it will have a 2018 build plate?
How long between im built and shipped in other peoples experience?
When its "shipped" would that be the best time to contact and get VIN?
Also, i assume towbar/loading sill protector/boot liner are all pre delivery items, what extras have people got from their dealers for delays? Mine was supposed to be pre christmas delivery, now moved to end of jan, which would surely be moved again....... im very angry about this

Has still been running great for last 9 months that I have been waiting.
Started just before my last birthday as my own b'day present.
Hope I have it before my next birthday.

Yours will be an MY18, as for actual build plate it may or may not have 2017 or 2018, honestly not sure.
Mine was on the ship within 7 or so days of being built from memory.
My dealer provided me with the VIN before the car even got booked for shipment, but my dealer has been very helpful.
No extras for delays unless they surprise me... not hopeful though.

It will be worth it mate! On the same token though, I have been without a car (wife and I cut down to a single car back a few years ago) so I won't know myself once it arrives

Sounds like we are in (and possibly on) the same boat. Ours are definitely MY18 builds which was the important bit for be........ please let me know how you get on if you could

Just had a call from dealership, checking if I want any extras. Apparently delivery is imminent and I was told 16th for predelivery last week. Getting hopeful, BUT my question is re the track n trace. Notification still says ‘discharged’ Doesn’t this mean still on docks and yet to be ‘delivered’ to Patricks??

Dealer is saying April delivery but I don't think they have a clue.

Ordered late November and expected the car in April but now possibly March. We always knew we were getting the MY18 but wanted a 2018 build and not 2017. The dealer down here in Melbourne has been great and more than helpful.

I think there is some confusion with terminology. I specified a 2018 BUILD DATE, not MY18. With a 2018 build date the car literally rolls off the production line in calendar year 2018. All of those MY 18 cars delivered up to now will be recorded as 2017 cars for the purpose of registration (at least in NSW) and resale.
